A/N - This chapter was inspired by the song Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar. There's a really specific part of this song where the music cuts out and she sings like really close to the mic and it tickles something in my brain so good. I hope you all enjoy it.

Billy always looked so in his element on a basketball court. It was his natural habitat, the place he felt most himself, and God, it showed. Honestly, you had always loved watching him, even before he'd started flirting with you; way before he'd ever asked you to be his girlfriend. And even now, when you were supposed to be hiding your relationship from the people around you, you were finding it pretty hard to pull your eyes away from him.

And it's not like you were the only one finding it hard, either. You'd caught him glancing in your direction whenever he got a chance, any time there was a break in play his eyes would stray over to you on the sideline, hiding his grin as he caught you already staring at him.

Your friends had been a little confused by your sudden interest in basketball. It was like you'd become a superfan overnight, insisting on sitting front and centre to get the best view of the game, and sure, they'd tagged along, feigning enthusiasm as they tried to make sense of your newest obsession, but they weren't nearly as interested as you were. After all, they didn't really get the rules, the same rules that Billy had explained to you in detail, sitting out by Lovers' Lake in his car on your third date.

The whistle blew, signalling the start of play, and you had perked up, eyes following Billy as he moved fluidly along the court. There were only a couple of seconds left on the board, and currently, they were neck and neck. The next point would be the decider. And with the way Billy was moving, you were almost certain that he would get the points with little effort. Your eyes flickered over to the clock. 7 seconds left.

When Billy took his shot, the crowd had fallen silent, watching as the ball slid perfectly into the net, and then, the entire room erupted into cheers as the buzzer sounded the end of the game. You were on your feet in an instant, jumping in excitement, and before you knew what was happening, Billy was standing in front of you, pulling you into a deep, celebratory kiss.

"Baby," you breathed, pulling back with wide eyes, all too aware of how many people were watching you.

"I did it," he uttered, still seemingly unaware of the situation he was putting you both in.

"Babe-"

"You proud of me, Angel?"

You hesitated for a moment. Of course, you were proud of him. He put his heart and soul into every game he played and it payed off. But right now, you were a little lost for words. "You kissed me," you mumbled, your hands moving to rest over the top of his, where they had landed instinctively on your hips.

"Shit," he breathed, his smile faltering slightly. "I'm sorry. I was just so excited," he pressed on, taking a small step back, out of your personal space, his hands leaving you immediately, and his eyes wandering over the crowd, working out how many people had actually seen the two of you together.

"I'm not mad," you started softly, watching as his eyes slid back to you. "I know we wanted to keep it quiet, but, that was 6 months ago. Back when it was still new."

He nodded slightly. "You're ready to tell people?"

You reached out, catching his hand in yours and drawing him back to you, placing them back on your hips. "I'm really proud of you," you finally answered. "You looked super hot out there, too," you added softly, drawing a snort of laughter out of him as he leaned in to kiss you again.

"Do you know how distracting it is, having you sitting here all pretty in the front row?" he grumbled against your lips. "Hearing you cheering for me in the crowd?"

"You can't hear me-"

"Can too," he disagreed. "Would know your voice anywhere, Angel."

You chuckled softly, letting him pull you into another kiss.

"So, it's official, huh?" he hummed, nudging your nose with his as he pulled back. "I can start bragging about my bombshell girlfriend to the guys in the changing rooms?"

"Only if I get to brag about my boyfriend being the star player," you teased, watching as his smile grew.

"Don't forget the bit about me winning us the game in the last second when you start showing off," he pressed, letting out a bark of laughter when you rolled your eyes at him. "Hey," he added, nudging your chin to make you look at him again. "I love you."

You bit down on your lip as you smiled up at him. "Yeah?"

"Yeah," he confirmed quietly.

"Well, that's good news, because I'm like stupid in love with you," you confessed, letting him steal another kiss as your words trailed off. "Now, go celebrate before the guys think you've been snatched up by the other team," you added, shoving him lightly in the chest to make him move back towards the rest of his teammates. "Have fun," you added.

"Come with me," he hummed, still keeping his hand on your hip. "All the guys bring their girlfriends around after the game. Hell, pretty sure Chrissy and Carole are basically part of the team now with how much they hang around," he added before you could disagree.

"You sure?"

"100%," he confirmed, removing his hand from your hip to link his fingers with yours. "Let me show you off, Angel."
