A/N - This chapter was inspired by the song Veronica by Daddy Issues. For this one, the reader is Eddie's sister who is giving off that main character vibe but also a totally alternative vibe, and Robin is just a sweet baby gay. I hope you all enjoy it.

"I think I'm in love with Y/N," Robin stated, so matter of factly that for a moment, Steve didn't really register what she was actually saying. And then, as if it had suddenly unravelled in his mind, his head had shot up from the stack of tapes he was working through, his eyes all wide and confused.

"What?" he murmured, confusion etched onto his features.

Robin hesitated for a moment, letting out a soft sigh. "I mean, have you seen her-"

"You know, she's certifiable, right?" Steve pressed on, ignoring the comments. "She's got like an entire toolbox worth of screws loose."

"She's a little wild," Robin corrected quietly. "But there's nothing wrong with that, is there?"

Steve let out a disgruntled sigh. "In 8th grade, she threatened to cut Tommy's head off because she heard he'd been picking on Eddie-"

"She's protective-"

"Protective would be me telling you that she's bad news; she's just insane," he interrupted, raising an eyebrow as if begging Robin to disagree with him.

Robin finally gave up on pretending to work, leaning her elbows on the counter to look at him. "Honestly, the hot-to-crazy ratio balances out," she hummed. "I heard that she broke into the pool one night over summer break with some of her bandmates and they all went skinny dipping," she pressed on, listening to the distressed grumble coming from Steve. "Isn't that so cool?"

"It's a criminal offence is what it is," Steve muttered, standing up properly, his hands on his hips as he frowned at Robin. "Look, I'm not trying to say that she's not hot, but she's trouble."

"I like trouble." Robin paused for a moment, shrugging. "I don't know; she just seems like she'd be fun."

Steve sighed again, sounding every bit the disapproving parent as he stalked back to his work, shaking his head. "I'm starting to think that maybe you've got a couple of screws loose too-"

The bell above the door chimed, signalling the entrance of a customer and the end of the conversation. Robin looked up, ready to greet them and instead found you perusing the scary movies on the stand by the door.

"Oh my God," Robin yelped, eyes widening in horror when your head popped up at the sound, your attention falling on her. She quickly ducked behind the counter, trying her hardest to make the movement look natural when it was anything but.

For a moment, she thought it had worked. Perhaps, you had assumed that Robin had found a bug under the register and had dipped down to get rid of it. Or maybe, she had spotted a loose quarter that had rolled away when she hadn't been paying attention.

"Are you good?" your voice hummed, and Robin glanced up reluctantly from her crouched position, finding you leaning over the counter to look down at her. "You look like you've seen a ghost," you added with a snort of laughter.

"Um, I -" Robin started, pulling herself up to full height and almost headbutting you in the process. "I was just-" her words trailed off again, falling into an awkward chuckle.

"She thought she saw her ex outside earlier," Steve supplied, trying his hardest not to look at the horrendously awkward interaction unfolding between the two of you. "I told her to just duck behind the counter if she saw them-"

Your brow furrowed slightly. "Got to have been a pretty gnarly breakup if you have to hide from them, huh?"

Robin released an awkward chuckle. "Yeah," she supplied quietly.

"Are they stalking you or something?"

You watched as Robin's brow furrowed in confusion. "No, I-"

"Because showing up at your ex's work often enough that they feel like they need to hide from you seems pretty shitty," you interrupted. "I can go and have a word if you want. Just point me in the right direction-"

"No," she yelped loudly, immediately grabbing your arm on instinct to stop you from walking away on your new mission. "She isn't bothering me," she corrected. "It's just awkward," she pressed on.

You nodded slightly, eyes roaming over her face. "She, huh?"

You watched as Robin paled, freezing on the spot for just a second before glancing over at Steve, silently begging for his help.

"That's dope," you pressed on, putting her out of her misery as quickly as you could manage. "It's rare that I get to meet other lesbians in these parts," you added with a small shrug.

"Other lesbians?" Robin repeated quietly.

You snorted softly, shaking your head. "God, you didn't think I was straight, did you?"

"I, uh-"

"Christ, I'm gay as the day is long," you chuckled, watching as Robin nodded awkwardly at your comment. "You've never met another lesbian before, have you?"

Robin swallowed down the lump in your throat. "Not that I know of."

"Well, then I'm honoured to be your first," you teased gently, sending her a quick wink before snatching a pad of paper and a pen from the counter, scribbling down your name and phone number. "Call me when you're ready," you added, sliding the paper back to her, your tongue dipping out to wet your bottom lip.

"I will-"

"I'm counting on it."
