"Congratulations, Maki! Your third exhibit is a success!"

Kira and I kissed each other on the cheek before she went to the crowd in front of me. I smiled with gratitude as I stood in front of many people. There are plenty of celebrities, influencers, and media attending my third exhibit. All of them are watching me say my gratitude speech.

Three years after my graduation, and I'm on my third exhibit already. It's really an honor, given the years of my experience. My first and second one earned a lot of attention and praises, which I'm very thankful for. This exhibit wouldn't be possible without the earlier ones' success.

"Thank you, everyone, for joining me as I open my third exhibit. This means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy my pieces." I politely said before bowing my head.

Everyone in the hall clapped their hands. Many people went closer to greet and congratulate me. After a short interview with the media, everyone went on their own ways to check my works.

"You're really something else, Maki."

I turned around to see who spoke. At first, I was confused of her existence. But then, Austin whispered to me, telling me she is my teacher.

"I am one of your teachers, Maki." she told me, smiling.

"I'm really sorry, Seongsaengnim." I apologized. I felt guilty for not recognizing her. She looked so kind and patient. I'm sure I had a good relationship with her.

She smiled before giving me a hug, "It's okay. I understand."

Her hug feels warm. We embraced each other for a couple of seconds before we let go. "I'm happy that you are here, Seonsaengnim."

"I'm happy too that I'm here. Your works are great! I can't choose what to get." she told me in Korean.

"Pick anything, Seonsaengnim. I'll give it to you as a gift."

She smiled before shaking her head, rejecting my offer. "No! Oh my gosh, you don't have to! Your works are wonderful, Maki. Investing on your works is surely worth-it."

I felt my cheeks flushing. I've received a lot of compliments today, but this one was the best. "Thank you, Seonsaengnim. I really owe you a lot. I wouldn't be here without your patience."

She held my hands, smiling. "No, Maki. You don't owe me anything. You owe all of this to yourself. You are so dedicated with pursuing your dream, that's why you're here. I am sure your Appa is so proud of you."

I blinked for a couple of times to prevent myself from crying. Every time someone mentions my dad, my tears always want to come out. But I can't cry on the first day of my exhibit. Most of the time, first days are the most hectic ones. I cannot show up to other people with swollen eyes. Nakakahiya.

After my interaction with my teacher, I busied myself by roaming around the hall. I spent my day entertaining interviews, responding to praises, and answering to potential clients' questions about my works. It was tough, but I enjoyed it.

When things got smoother, I rested on one of the couches and checked my messages. Nakita ko ang message ni Eli sa group chat naming tatlo nina Kira.

I really cannot remember kung paano naging close si Eli and Kira. Most likely, it was because of me. Hindi naman nila makikilala ang isa't isa if it wasn't for me. I prolly introduced them to each other, and they got along easily. It wasn't a surprise to me since may similarities naman silang dalawa.
