"Hindi ka pupunta ng Korea ngayon? Bakit?"
I nodded at Sid. I was packing my bag for my trip to Ezperanza. Our work schedule got moved because of an important event, that's why I will be staying there for a week. Austin and Hazel wouldn't go with me. They chose to stay here in Manila to roam around and spend their time together.
The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I had been pushing myself lately to the limit, causing me to forget everything. That's why, I decided to take a break on Ezperanza. It's been a while since I've last saw my family. And now that I have the opportunity, I chose not to waste it.
"Yeah, I'm going to Ezperanza, instead." I answered him while I'm folding my clothes.
Mas lalong nanlaki ang mata niya. "Talaga? Sama ako!"
My brows furrowed in confusion, "Why? Don't you have work?"
Mabilis siyang umiling. "Hindi ako tumanggap ng kahit na anong trabaho ngayong linggo kasi balak ko ring umuwi. Tao rin naman ako, ano! Deserve ko ring magpahinga!" Sid defended himself.
"Okay, okay." I said, laughing. "Sige. Go, pack your bags na."
"Tapos na."
Mabilis akong napatingin sa kanya, gulat na gulat. He's done? "Really? How? When?"
"Kagabi pa." He casually answered before sipping his coffee.
I was dumbfounded. He... packed his bags the night before?
"So... I really have no choice but to let you join me?" I asked him.
Ngumiti siya at umiling. "Wala."
It was already noon when we left his unit. Sid drove us to Ezperanza using his personal car, the black Audi A4 Avant. I don't know if this was my first time to ride his car, but I was surprised by how clean it is. The seats were upholstered with brown leather, fitting to his style.
It's been an hour since we left his unit, but we're still stuck here in the metro. The traffic here felt like forever! I noticed that Sid's getting impatient, too, judging by how he tapped the steering wheel.
Sid looked at my direction so I instantly shifted my eyes on the window. Since we started this trip, hindi pa kami ulit nag-uusap. I find it really hard to talk to him. Nahihiya ako.
"Ngayon ka lang ba ulit uuwi ng Ezperanza?" biglang tanong niya sa akin.
I nodded, my eyes still fixed on the window. "I was so busy, I didn't had a time to visit it." I answered him. I looked around, checking if the vehicles around us are moving. But they are not.
I softly sighed in frustration. When will this fucking traffic end?!
