Chapter 32: Maki

[GIRL! CONGRATULATIONS!]

I was doing my skincare when Kira called. I cannot remember the last time we talked to each other. She's so busy with her life kaya hindi ko nasabi sa kanya ang balita. Now, she's probably calling because she finally saw the news about Sid and I on Twitter.

My lips formed a smile, "Thank you."

[That's why you're calling pala last time! You'll tell me na kayo na! I'm so busy kasi lately. You know, I have Renee and my work.]

"It's fine, Kira. How are you? How's Renee?" I asked her while I'm applying my serum. I haven't seen Renee for so long. If it weren't for Kira's constant updates about her, I'll probably forget her. 

[She's fine! We're fine! She's on her book era na which I'm really loving. Every day, she's becoming more intelligent!]

"That's good." I replied. It's a no surprise since Kira is also smart. I don't know about Renee's father, though. Nakalimutan ko na kung sino siya.

Sakto, Sid arrived when Kira's talking to me. He went to me and pressed his lips to mine. I think, he didn't notice that I'm talking to Kira since nagulat siya noong makita niyang may ka-call ako.

[My god! I can't believe I'll come to this point where I'll see you flirt, bestie!] Kira uttered, grimacing.

"Ay gagi, si Kira pala 'to! Huy, lods! Musta ka diyan sa abroad?" Sid greeted her.

[I'm fine, Sid! How are you? I bet you're so happy na you got Maki na.]

Sid motioned me to give him some space so I did. Nagsha-share kami ngayon sa isang upuan. "Syempre! At last, umeffect na ang binigay kong gayuma dito!"

I glared at him. What the hell is he talking about?

Kira laughed at him, "Oh my god! You are still so funny!" 

Sid grinned. He's clearly enjoying this. "Siya nga pala, kamusta ka?"

[I'm fine. I'm doing good!] Kira answered him. 

"Hindi ka ba talaga uuwi ng Pilipinas?" tanong pa ni Sid.

Kira didn't heard him. Right after Sid asked her, a crying sound appeared. "I'm sorry. I'll talk to you next time! I have to go." Kira ended the call, hurriedly.

"Sino 'yung umiyak?" Sid asked me. I just shrugged my shoulders. 

The next day, I decided to finally open my socials. I'm so scare, but I know I can't run away from my new reality. As I opened my Twitter, my hands kept on trembling. Our names are still on Trending List, so I clicked that to check the tweets about us.

I was right. The news gained various reactions to the public. Some didn't like it, but the majority rooted for us. Somehow, it made me feel a sense of relief.
