The Spire
N woke with a jolt. He was pulled out of his dream so fast he almost fell from the ceiling. The drone yawned, stretched and gently glided down to the ground. The snow crunched softly under his heavy feet and snowflakes were slowly drifting in from the entrace. The sun was just about to vanish beyond the horizon. N picked up a spare corpse and tore it open. Mechanical components and oil flow pumps fell onto the floor, followed by a wave of thick black liquid. The male drone quickly held it over his head and began to gulp down the substance, satisfying his own appetite. The corpse was still somewhat filled with oil but N just casually threw it over his head.
He sighed and moved over to the landing pod. His heavy body landed with a thump as he sat down in the snow next to it. Whilst looking at the corpse walls he remembered the words V said yesterday. "You can't tell me what's going on huh?" He said softly to himself. N traced his index finger through the soft white carpet. "I already know what happened to J... I just wish you'd accept me." N shook his head slightly and raised his finger out of the snow. He'd subconsciously drawn a heart. His visor began to heat up and his central pump began whirring loudly. Then a loud crash from outside of the spire caught his attention. N jumped to his feet and called out for whom he thought was outside. "Uzi? Thad? Are you guys out there?" No response.
N suddenly felt impending doom looming over him and he readied his weaponry, pulling out a missile launcher and large caliber rifle. "Identify yourself!" Still no response. Then suddenly a drone appeared in the entrance. It was taller than a worker drone and wore a black uniform. It raised it's hands and slowly closed the distance between itself and N. "Stop! I don't want to shoot you!" N cried out, both of his arms shaking as he realized that this must be someone from HQ. "Lower your weapons N, its me." The drone finally spoke up. Upon hearing those words, N dropped both his arms. "... H?!"
N couldn't believe who had appeared out of thin air, right in front of him. His best friend. Yet he wore a black uniform. The black officers cap on his head also wore a robotic skull on it. N knew what this meant. "H... you're part of the extermination team?" N asked sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. H stopped approaching and straightened his posture. "Correct. I've taken it upon myself to be tasked with the destruction of rogue worker AND disassembly drones." N's eyes hollowed. "B-But t-this uh, this would mean t-that you c-came here t-" Before N could finish his sentence a loud bang echoed throughout the spire, which woke V.
H had drawn a pistol and shot a hole clean into the center of N's visor. It did not exit out the back of his head. "Now N, if you're smart you'll follow me, and we'll fix you right back up, so you can return to your duties. Otherwise you'll never fully heal from this wound as it'll slowly infect you with rust from the inside." H said coldly as he returned the firearm to its holster. N stuttered and sputted but no coherent words ever left his mouth. Finally the sentimental drone fell over and faceplanted hard in the snow. He'd begun his reconstruction phase. H sighed and unholstered the pistol. He'd heard clanging from inside the landing pod.
Within the blink of his holographic eyes the doors slid open and V dashed out, she tackled him to the ground and changed her hand to a claw. H quickly countered the incoming slash by grabbing her arm and pushing her back. "So this is how we meet again V." H added coldly as he slowly overpowered the female. V replied with a glare. "Leave us." She threatened, to which H laughed sinisterly. "I got my orders." He replied with a wide grin. Finally he'd brought V to the ground and sat down on top of her chest, immobilizing her. H swiftly aimed the pistol at V's visor and fired a second shot. The bullet also didn't exit the drone's head and got stuck inside.
The entrance to her main core sparked and zapped with electricity as H stood back up. "I'll give you two one month. After that the rust'll do it's thing." He brushed the snow off of his black coat and returned the pistol to its holster a second time. "This is black eagle, targets are ready for pickup in about a month." The tall disassembly drone had called to JCJensons headquarters and left the spire quickly. "I also have to mention that we unfortunately lost a 75mm cannon in combat... Yes... of course... roger that, black eagle out." H cut the transmission and spread his wings as he dashed into the sky. The black uniform was sun repellant and allowed him to execute orders even during daytime.
