The Day | Part 2: Here Comes the Cavalry!

He draws his sword preparing to fight as his knights stand ready.

"Ah shit." Cole whispered while readying himself to fight.

This guy is pretty tall, but other than that, he doesn't seem to dangerous, maybe I can knock him out and-

A sword reaches Cole's cheek, he ducks just in the nick of time, preventing what would've been a fatal wound.

A bead of sweat rolls down his temple, and a tiny cut opens up on his cheek.

If I was even half a second slower..

He pushes those thoughts out of his head as he enhances his body with prowess.

"Come on, you can do better than that!" Cole said more to himself than to him

Arthurs smile widens as he takes another swing, Cole dodged again, but this time his sword hits the ground, causing a tear in the ground that stretches far out and deep down. He can't risk getting hit by this thing.

Another swing is sent at Cole, this time he reinforces with flames and parries the attack, sending the force behind him instead, he counters with a heavy blow to his side.

However, this only makes Arthur stumble a little, he grabs Coles arm with his free hand and tosses him away.

God dammit! I've never fought someone in armor before.

He tumbles on the ground, rolling before he stands up again.

"Ugh, fuck this guy." He said holding his shin

Looks like I'll have to do more than prowess enhancement to break through that armor of his.

Arthur was walking towards him menacingly, brandishing his sword proudly

"Haha! Excellent, you'd make make for an entertaining jester! Perhaps you wouldn't mind joining my Round Table?" He asks 

Cole takes this as him mocking him. "You mother- like hell I'm joining your round table or whatever." Cole flips him off

He shrugs. "Oh well." He stops spinning his sword and begins chanting

"Holy remnants of the past, come to me." His sword vanishes and a sword in stone appears before him.

"I call upon you, Legendary armament.." He grabs the handle of the sword. "Excalibur!"

When he pulls the sword out a bright light emits from the stone, temporarily blinding Cole, Arthur tears it out, hoisting it in the air with gusto.

Once Cole regains his vision he sees the legendary sword enriched in blue and yellow flames, the blue was lighter than his blue flames however.

"Flaming sword huh? You just gave me an advantage." Cole heats up, engulfing his body in orange flames.

"Now this is a fair fight!" Cole says

"Have at thee!" 

They both charge at each other, Arthur swings down onto him, certain he can block it, Cole puts his arms up, enhanced with prowess.

But instead of being deflected like he thought, the sword cuts straight through the flames surrounding Cole and reach his arms. His eyes go wide with terror, the sword pierces his flesh, cutting deep into him, almost removing his arm altogether.

Arthur laughs, removing his sword and instead giving him a powerful kick sending him flying backwards. Cole shouts in pain as his arms bleed profusely, the blood covering the flames, making it burn red.

"AGGH, why didn't that work?!" Cole shouted painfully

"You fool, the holy flames of Excalibur can't be stopped by some measly fire!" Arthur proclaimed proudly like a hero who just found out his villains weakness.

"Now, last chance, want to be my jester? I still would like to recruit you into my Round Table."

Cole held his arms close, feeling like they would fall off if he stretched them out. "Y-You son of a-"

He was interrupted by a lily pad growing underneath him and picking him up, placing him into the seat of a carriage.

"Wh-what?" He said confused

"Cole!" Luke said concerned

"Luke..?" 

"Here hold still." Alexis says readying her prowess

"I can heal you."

"Cole, oh my god." Dustin covers his mouth

"This'll hurt so, bite your lip or something." Before Cole could react, vines begin sprouting inside the gaps between his torn flesh, repairing it, but causing great pain.

He began wincing

"Oh wait let me help." Luke holds a rune over his head.

"The pain is gone..?" Cole said confused

"Alright, we'll have to stop here!" Jeremiah says from the front of the carriage

"We've got our work cut out for us this time." Jeremiah remarked

Everyone looks up and sees the ginormous army standing idly by while Arthur stands there with his sword in the ground, waiting patiently.

"Haha! You called in reinforcements?! That breaks the rules!"

"Yeah right asshole! I never agreed to any rules!" Cole shouted back at him

"Have it your way!" He points his sword at the carriage and the army readies their weapons, as archers fire upon them, numbering the hundreds.
