Evangeline was lying in the bed. Her chest was slowly rising and falling slowly. Instead of the hoodie she was wearing before, her body was now covered with a blanket, only her shoulders and face visible to us.

Daisy told us to turn around as she carefully took off her piece of clothing to make her job easier.

Daisy wasn't someone I like to have around but she was good at what she was doing. That's why she liked being called 'the healer'; because she knows how to heal people. "The bullet it's out." She said as she put it in a little box.

The redhead started cleaning the room. I waited for Evangeline to hiss in pain or to squeeze my hand but she didn't. But she's breathing. That means she's alive. "She looks familiar." Daisy squinted her eyes and tilted her head. "Did I meet her before?"

I quickly looked at Matteo and he was looking at her like he was ready to eat her whole. Daisy had seen Amelie. Her lifeless body at least. I guess that image really stuck with her if she's able to remember it after all these years.

"No, you didn't." I quickly answered.

"How do you know?" She glanced at me. "Maybe I've met her at a store or something."

It would be quite impossible since she wasn't allowed to leave the house for eight years and the fact she lives in Brookside. "Then why did you ask?"

"For your information, I was talking to myself." Her eyes glanced at me.

"Just do your job, Daisy." Matteo finished for me and I was glad. The last thing I want is to fight her or anyone else. After I know she's safe, I will go after Castor and personally kill him myself. I don't care if it's in daylight, in the middle of a busy street, or at night, when nobody is around. I will stab the life out of him.

"I only need to dress up the wound." She announced to us as her hands reached for her needle and thread that were sitting in boiling water. She wiped the needle, put the thread through the hole and started doing what she was supposed to.

Reflexively, I squeezed Evangeline's hand, forgetting for a moment that she couldn't feel anything. "I didn't know your name was Henry."

It isn't but my sister once told me that she wanted to call me Henry but mother decided to go with Miro instead. When Evangeline asked for my name, the only thing in my mind was Henry. I couldn't come up with a fake name so I just said Henry. I laid myself bare in front of Evangeline from the first moment we saw each other and I didn't even realise it. "And I didn't know you are such a chit—chatter."

Daisy rolled her green eyes. Even though we both have the same eye colour, her eyes were darker. Smaller. "You don't know me at all, Miro." She shakes her head disappointedly. "I like chatting."

I let out a deep breath to calm myself down. "Please, just do your job, ok?" If Evangeline dies, I'll take myself out of this life and follow her in her next creepy life. Maybe one where me and her are happy and carefree, where the world wasn't cruel to us, where I didn't have to lie to her and make her suffer.
