why did you ask me
if we're ok
with so much vulnerability
there in your voice
do you really even care if we're ok?
we're just friends right?
nothing more, maybe less
why are you throwing me on an
emotional rollercoaster
i left you first
you did everything to come back
all for the sole purpose
of trying to leave me?
is getting the last word really so important?
you don't love me but you tell me
that you do
you don't want me but your actions say you do
the way you talk to me says you care
and the way you react to me having
guy friends say you're still jealous
why do you care about it at all
we're just friends right?
that's all we are right?
but you'll say you haven't had another
the whole time we haven't been together
and you seem so quietly outraged
when I broach the subject
like it's so far fetched you
can't fathom why I thought it
you texted like you needed me
went home like you missed me
called me like you wished
we were talking like before
you don't want me to move on
you keep asking if I have
the idea of me with someone else
still makes your blood run cold
but at the end of it all
we're friends
nothing more
maybe less
so why do you pretend you want more?
we're only friends
definitely not more
probably less
so why are you still
begging for my attention
