imagine your card gets declined at therapy
and instead of asking
if you have another form of payment
they bring out the boy you loved for 2 years
the one who mentally and psychologically
and emotionally wrecked you
for a long timethe boy that you tried your best for
the boy you begged to change
the boy who said I love you first
the boy who seemed so damaged
and hurt and yet sweet and compassionate
but who was actually a heartbreaker
the boy who ruined your sense of self
the boy who ruined your self esteem
the boy who became your favorite person
in the most unhealthy ways possibleimagine they bring out the boy
who saved you
the same one who then later ruined you
they bring out the boy who hurt you
over and over
and then had you apologizing
when he was at fault
out comes the boy who manipulated you
and gaslit the hell out of you
until you didn't know which way was upthey bring him out
and he's still the one who got away
and he's still the one you're still in love with
and he's still the one you'd
move literal and figurative mountains for
he walks out and he looks the same as he did
every time he would hurt you
and you look into his eyes
and you see the same oceans
you always saw in his eyes
you still feel his fingers pressed to your legs
and his chest against your back
on the nights you fell asleep togetherimagine your card declined at therapy
and they bring out the boy who ruined you
for everyone else
and the boy you know you'll
never fall out of love with
and like it always was
he is one and the same
