i looked for you
in every face that crossed my path
i looked for you
in every leaf that fell during the fall
i looked for you in every lake
that i walked past
i looked for you
i looked for your smile
in dozens of faces
i listened for your laugh
from so many people
i waited and waited for you to come home
i died a thousand deaths
waiting to hear your voice
i cried a million tears
in hopes to see your face
i lived lifetimes without you
and watched lifetimes with you
i bleed and I break and I die
i whimper and I quiver and I cry
life is lonely, no one to turn to
no one but me is listening
i tried to hear your voice
in every person who talked to me
tried to see the blue of your eyes
in all the eyes looking back at me
i tried to find you
in someone else
and i couldn't
i looked in every person
who passed me by
i looked deep, into their eyes
for the ocean blue
and the little white specks
for the clarity I searched for
was nowhere to be found
you were in no one
i looked into to find you
and so I sank
down towards the bottom
the loss of you so great
i couldn't bear another minute
you were in no one,
when I looked into their eyes
i searched to try to find you
but you chose to pass me by
