The truth is though
I always wanted you for more
I wanted you for lifetimes
I wanted you for all of the evers
I wanted you for the here and now
And for the years down the road
You wanted me for the here and now
You wanted me but it was only temporary
You wanted me because I didn't want you
The honeymoon phase, I wish I realized it
We went downhill as soon as that ended
You called it maturing
I now realize it was more along the lines of
We had been together for long enough
That you knew I was caught
Hook, line and motherfucking sinker bro
That was when you changed
Maybe not changed but showed who you were
You showed your true colors
And I didn't stay the same either
But I really did change
Everything about myself
In the hopes of keeping you
