September 1973
Adelaide woke up at 5, not being able to sleep any longer, she dressed in her school uniform, went outside and took her violin with her. She went to the astronomy tower and practiced, but she put a silencing charm around her. She practiced for some two hours until she felt her hands strain and went back to the common room. She quietly creeped in her dormitory and saw Alice and Sarah awake.
"Where were you?" Sarah asked showing her concern.
"Getting some fresh air. It's nice weather to walk outside." A lie with Adelaide hiding her violin's case.
"That soon?"
"I just woke up half an hour ago." Another lie.
"Let's go and eat something. I am starving." Alice announced.
Sarah and Alice hooked their hands around Adelaide's arm. They walked to the great hall. Adelaide hid a book about care of magical creatures under her uniform. When they sat on the table, their timetables arrived.
"Did you take any of the extra classes?" Alice asked the girls.
"I took care of magical creatures and divination." Sarah replied.
"I took care of magical creatures and arithmancy." Alice announced. "What about you Dela?"
"I took care of magical creatures, arithmancy and study of ancient runes." Adelaide replied while she was reading her book and sipping tea.
"Aren't you going to eat something?" Mary suddenly appeared and looked at her empty plate.
"Well, Mary, not everyone is going to start munching on food right away." Adelaide snapped and put some potatoes on her plate.
The she aggressively put them in her mouth, not caring if it burned her mouth. If Elizabeth was here, she would chastise my eating and manner. Adelaide continued putting them in her mouth, glaring at Mary to say that she was not even dieting. Mary looked away, as if her theory of her dieting not being correct was something that she was sad about.
"I only took care of magical creatures and muggle studies." Mary announced. "All of us had taken care of magical creatures, but Lily also took muggle studies and ancient runes. Dorcas has Adelaide's chosen curriculum and Marlene only took divination cause she wanted to fill her two minimum chosen study materials." Then the other girls joined them as well.
Afterwards, Adelaide didn't feel like eating the rest of the potatoes and she had nothing else to do and so she left.
"Where are you going? Stay here and talk with us." Lily pleaded taking her wrist.
"I will be checking on Helena." Adelaide shrugged Lily's gentle hold and went away, walling towards Helena.
"Lena, how are you doing now?" Adelaide asked her, noticing her sister's happy expression. She was talking with Pandora and another girl who had light blonde hair and brown eyes and was in Hufflepuff.
"Hi, we had just finished our breakfast and were leaving for our classes. They start from today."
"Did you eat well, Lena?"
"Yes, i cleared my plate two times." Helena smiled, "oh, this is Maud Abbott. She is also a first year like us, we met on the train."
"Oh, nice to meet you." Adelaide smiled at her shaking the girl's hand.
"My brother is the same year as you." Maud told her.
"Oh, Henry is your brother? How interesting." Adelaide smiled at her. Henry was good friends with Albert Bones and was a kind boy who always had his friends back, but she also noticed that since the last few months of their second year, they both had befriended Frank and Somerset, though the other four troublesome Gryffindor boys didn't really warm up to them.
