Chapter 40: Another Beginning

Adelaide visited Diagon alley with her sisters, they all separated and joined their own group of friends. Elizabeth only came for their safety and buying her own supplies for the wizarding art academy, that she got accepted into.

"Hi, Adelaide. Our friends are all waiting for us." Sarah told her, smiling at her as she dragged her through the street. Adelaide noticed that it was more crowded than when she came here with William.

"Apparently, we have a new DADA professor again. Can't they keep one for a few years? I don't think it's that hard." Sarah rolled her eyes.

"Really? Perhaps Lizzie's friends were right and it's cursed." Adelaide joked as they went in the bookstore.

They greeted the girls and bought their own books and paid for them. Afterwards they went and bought needles robes for themselves and some parchments with quills. Nothing of note happened while they were shopping and decided to go sit at the Leaky Cauldron to catch up.

"So how was it?" Dorcas asked. At first, Adelaide looked at her confusedly. Then after noticing their giggles, she glared and said: "Ah, i see. It was nothing special, i told you we just hung out to catch up, just like we're doing now. And yes it was nice."

"So, nothing happened?" Mary pressed.

"Nothing." Then Adelaide remembered what she did at the end of their meeting and blushed a bit.

"Ooo, you're definitely blushing. Something happened. Tell us!" Sarah said as she edged closer to her.

"Nothing! Stop pestering me and do not insinuate something that isn't there."

"Ok, drama queen. Anyways, have you seen the new broom! It's majestic!" Marlene said as her eyes sparkled with awe.

They talked a bit and later after a short time they bid farewell and Adelaide went to find her sisters. They went back home to spend the last week of Summer in peace and together.

"Get up, Dela! Did you forget? We have to get to the train today!" Helena said loudly as she caressed Adelaide's hand.

"Oh, r-really? Sorry." Adelaide stood up suddenly as she watched the clock. She had to get ready and eat in 30 minutes. Helena herself was dressed. "I am going down to eat breakfast."

Adelaide wore a pleated black skirt with pale blue buttoned down shirt. She wore her black shoes and black pantyhose. She put her hair in a braid. She also checked her trunk for one last time and rushed downstairs.

"Adelaide, even though you're late, eat properly. Don't worry and eat everything." Robert said looking up from the Daily Prophet with a frown evident on his face.

Adelaide ate whatever she could, unlike last year and she finished up just in time. They left for the station and Adelaide, seeing Alice and Sarah waving at her, said goodbye to Edmund, Elizabeth and her father and left to join her friends. They went and sat in a bigger compartment and relaxed. Dorcas and Mary were already there. Marlene joined them a few minutes later but Lily joined them when the train started moving, annoyance and hurt evident in her features. It's definitely Severus' doing or his friends. She squeezed Lily's hand as she sat down.
