When I tell you Max planned our entire weekend for just sex.
I mean he planned the ENTIRE weekend for just sex.
I have never been so blissfully sore in my entire life.
And I have never experienced this much sex in a matter of three days.
It's as if he did this so we could make up for all the days missed from when we first met.
I swear.
At one point- we even had sex mentally. Don't ask me how.
Just trust that it happened.
Walking through my front door this evening, I'm not the least bit shocked to find my Mum with the kids listening to more Ghanaian Jazzband music.
Zeppy is spinning in a circle- as fast as his little wobbly legs can take him.
And Luna is simply bouncing up and down while my Mum sings peacefully.
"We're home?!" I say to draw their attention and in a matter of seconds, both children are up and running over to me happier than ever. "Oh, my babies!!! I've missed you so much!!"
My mum turns the music down and smile gaily as she comes towards us.
"Well? How was your little vacation?"
"Good. Very peaceful. I truly appreciate you watching the kids all weekend for us." I state and my Mum smirks before looking at Max.
"Well, here's hoping it was just what was needed." She snarks and pushes him slightly as if teasing him.
It's lovely seeing her become so close to Max and the kids- though with me, she is still how she was- a bit bitter and cross half the time.
But she's trying.
Truly.
"Yeah, here's hoping." Max adds and takes Luna off my hip. "What's my girl been up too?"
"Dancing."
"Just like your, Mom." He says cheerily, but it's laced slightly with disdain.
"How about you? Wild man?" I ask Zep and he giggles before gently touching my face. "Nose."
He points to it and then my mouth.
"Lips." I give him a kiss.
And in classic Zep fashion, he pokes me directly in the left eyeball.
"Ow! Zeppy!! Not Mummy's eye." I squeeze it shut and tears come from it.
"Zephyrus James." Max scolds and takes him from me.
"It's alright....phhssss he didn't mean it." I say and try to open my eye. "Bloody... he needs his finger nails clipped."
"Let's take a look, Helen." My mum comes back over and gently tries to open my eye.
"Give me a second...ow..." I say and try to will the pain away.
"Just open up and let me see, Elaheh."
She demands quietly and I finally do. I feel water coming from my eye and she makes a face.
"Mummy beeding..." Luna points.
"I'm afraid he cut your eye. You are bleeding, Helen." My mum reiterates and I sigh and look at Max.
"Let's go get antibiotic drops and flush it out. Might need to get imaging done. You most definitely have Hyphema, but let's just get a second opinion. Mom, could you..." Max begins to ask her and she cuts him off.
"Of course. I will make them dinner and get them ready for bed if you're not back in time."
"Thank you, I appreciate it a lot." I say as I hold my eye and give her a hug- which is a little stiff because she still isn't one for hugging me- but she does so anyhow.
