"You should've studied instead of having a date with that man. You know you're having a hard time with that subject."
Our next subject is math, and she's copying all the solutions in my notebook like there's no tomorrow.
I can see her rolling her eyes even though she's almost hugging the table.
"It's not only in the intelligence nor capability, Patrice. It's also about the patience and perseverance to learn. Don't skip the commas, it's part of the solution," pagkatapos niyang isulat ang huling numero ay isinara niya ang ballpen at hinarap ako.
"Opo, opo, Miss President. Siya, lilibre na lang kita mamaya. Thank you! You're my savior!"
"I told you, that man can't be trusted," may nanliligaw kasi sa kaniyang senior namin at inaya siyang mag-date, siya naman itong go na go.
Patrice is a happy-go-lucky woman, well, I am too, kaya nga naging magkaibigan kami. But not as much as hers. I know my limitations.
"He's kind!
We're just in ninth grade, but she's thinking about relationships this advance.
"How many times should I repeat myself? Mom and dad don't want me to. Even sina kuya Royse and kuya Cassian, pinapaderan ako. Isa pa ayoko munang mag-boyfriend, we're still young. Mga uhugin pa ang mga boys sa school, they're not even an inch of my standard," dad and my brothers set my standard for men so high.
We're in the right age for this experience.
I raised my eyebrow and flipped my hair.
"Nakapila ang manliligaw, Patrice." I said truthfully.
Spending vacations in the State is maybe one of the reasons her mindset is like this. She always has a man she flirts with to tell me after vacation.
"Halika nga at suklayin natin iyang buhok mo, senyorita Rapunzel." Biro niya na nagpatawa sa aming dalawa.
Patrice has been my best friend since I entered high school. We are classmates and partners in crime.
Marami kaming pagkakapareho kaya madali kaming nagkasundo. I love her not just as a friend but also as a sister.
With a simple exchange of glances, alam na namin ang gustong sabihin ng isa't isa. Marami rin kaming mga kalokohan. She's also close to my family dahil madalas siya sa bahay.
We're like a second family to her.
