Chapter 9- Date

I decided to take a break from the boutique today. Nasasabayan naman namin ang plano para sa project at medyo nauuna pa kami. A one-day break won't affect the process.

Nagpadala ako kanina ng mga materials kay Grace para rito gawin sa mansiyon ang suit na gustong ipatahi ni Jesian, isisingit ko na habang nasa pahinga ako.

I made sure this time that Duke would receive the message that he doesn't have to go to the boutique. I asked Callie to be the one to message him and he replied that he understood.

Rest well.

That was the exact message I received from him an hour later. Like him, I haven't changed my phone number yet. Kaya nagulat ako na nasa kaniya pa rin ang number ko, well I deleted all our photos and his number.

Paano ko nalaman na siya ang nagtext?

Kabisado ko lang naman ang number niya. That's how I valued even the smallest details about him.

Tumayo ako mula sa pagkakaupo ko sa harap ng sewing machine at lumabas ng kuwarto.

I asked ate Sarah where Samara is and she told me that she's in the garden with baby Daven and ate Digna. Nagising na pala ang munti naming prinsipe.

Dito na sila natulog kagabi at mamaya pa uuwi. Pumasok ng company si kuya Royse pero maaga na siyang umuuwi o hindi naman kaya ay nagha-half day lang para matulungan si Samara sa pag-aalaga.

Sila kuya Cassian at Sabel naman ay bumalik ng Palawan kaninang umaga dahil nagkaroon ng problema sa plantahan. Nakakatuwa nga na makita na sobrang head over the heels niya kay Sabel.

I saw Samara sitting in the lawn while singing for baby Daven in the crib when I reached the garden. He's looking at his nanay filled with awe in his eyes. Mumbling like he was singing with her.

Napahinto si Samara nang makita ako.

"Yanna," she smiled and greeted. 

I kissed her and Daven's cheek before I sat down beside her.

"I guess you will never get bored when you have Daven's company," Daven is so lively, lalo na at bagong gising.

"Never. Everything about him keeps my interest alive, especially his reactions. Right, baby? You entertain nanay so much," we both laugh when he giggles as if he understands what Samara has said.

"Although hindi naman mawawala na hinahanap-hanap ko rin ang trabaho na nakasanayan ko, iniisip ko na lang na ang pag-aalaga kay Daven ay hindi ko na puwedeng mabalikan. I can go back in the field whenever I want, but I can't go back to this time where Daven is still a baby, who everything needs is me and his tatay," napangiti ako.

I know kuya Royse will do exactly the same if the estate doesn't need him. Ayaw niya kasi na iwanan kay lolo Fred ang lahat. Although pumasok na rin ng estate si kuya Cassian, marami pa rin siya na kailangang gawin dahil sa laki ng estate.

As for me, even though I want to help, my knowledge about the estate is limited. So, I focus on attending the meetings that I can handle. Ganoon din sila Jesian.

"Daven will surely be proud of the both of you. Lalo na sayo," like Duke, Samara also received many awards as an architect.

"Hindi naman ako ganoon kagaling, pero sapat na ang maipakita na mahal ko ang trabaho ko kaya ko nakamit ang mga tagumpay ko," she's always so humble. She softened kuya Royse because of the pureness of her heart.
