It's awry.

I repeatedly told my father that I was capable of handling things on my own in the States, but he insisted on taking me back home with him.

I sighed before entering.

The room suddenly fell silent, but the noise returned just as quickly.

I feel empty.

I scanned the entire classroom and saw admiration in the eyes of the girls.

I could discern what lay behind all their smiles and get a glimpse of their characters.

My eyes inexplicably halted when I met the gaze of the girl sitting in the middle of the room.

She's beautiful.

Her eyes emit a distinct radiance that stirs a sudden, unfamiliar rhythm within my heart.

In the hours that have passed since we arrived, it is only now that I have experienced this unusual emotion sweeping through me.

The teacher told me to introduce myself, so I just did.

I couldn't help but glance at her after the introduction.

The teacher called her Yanna.

Yanna.

That's her name.

It's beautiful.

She was assigned to give me a tour of the campus, I guess she has a position or something.

For somehow,

I felt excited.

They approached me after the class. They have a lot of comments and questions that I patiently answering. I don't mind. I like their energy.

"Isa-isa lang ng tanong, paano niya kayo masasagot kung sabay-sabay kayong magtanong?" Then she interfered, noticing that I couldn't almost answer their successive questions.

Our eyes met.

She smiled.

There's the beating again.

"I'm Avyanna Marlowe, Yanna na lang." She extended her hand.

I stared at it before raising my hand to shake hers.

A current surged through my hand, and I knew she felt it too.

Ang lambot ng kamay niya.

Ang komportableng hawakan.

Tinanong niya kung free ako mamaya, sinabi ko na oo kahit maaga akong pinapauwi ni papa.

I went to her seat after the class.

Kinuha ko ang book bag niya para hindi siya gaanong mahirapan.

Nilibot niya ako sa buong school habang ipinapaliwanag ang mga pangalan ng buildings, hanggang sa nauwi sa pangarap ang usapan namin.

I was impressed as she talked about her dream.

When her rosy lips part as she speaks and she will look at me with her round eyes. Her graceful movements, soft hair, and pointed nose that gleams in the sunlight.

I was enthralled.

I don't know what got into me, but I asked if I could be her friend, and she said yes.

She said yes.

I went home that day with a different smile on my face.

My father got curious, as well as mama Faye, and Penelope. They teased me. I just smiled.
