I arrived at the ice rink, ready to play hockey with the guys   To my surprise, Scott was already there but Dean and Ethan had not arrived yet and when he saw me, he snorted. I sighed because i already knew why.

"Look man, I know Dana told you but"-"Save it. The poor girl thinks you're the most amazing man in the world, and you're out there screwing some whore you barely know," he said, referring to Tara. I couldn't believe the disrespect he was showing her. Tara was nothing like that.

"Now you're getting out of hand," I retorted, pointing a finger at him as he stood close to me.

"Truth hurts, and you don't even have the decency to tell Dean about it because you know he likes her. Your own best friend. It's like this girl has poisoned you against everyone in your life," he continued.

I grew angrier with each word, but I remained composed. "You know nothing about Tara. I love that girl, and the only reason we haven't told Stassie is because we don't want to break her heart," I defended Tara passionately. Scott just laughed and walked away, saying, "Keep telling yourself that."

This frustrated me because Scott refused to see the truth about Tara. His problem with her was beyond comprehension. But I knew that I had to stay strong and stand up for that girl.

Dean's intentions towards Tara were probably just about physical attraction, as he had a history of being casual with women. But it was strange that he showed interest in her, the only girl I seemed to genuinely care about. This annoyed me, but I couldn't let it consume me. I needed to focus on what mattered – my relationship with Tara.

I quickly put on my gloves and rushed into the ice rink, intending to clear things up with Scott. However, just as I was about to confront him, Ethan and Dean arrived. I knew that I couldn't have this conversation in front of them, so I decided to wait until we were alone.
As Ethan and Dean greeted us and each other excitedly, talking about the upcoming college season and the hockey spirit, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement for what was to come. Dean mentioned that it had started snowing outside, adding to my anticipation for the winter season ahead. Despite the distraction of the conversation, my focus remained on the pending discussion with Scott. I knew that resolving our issues was important, and I was determined to address them as soon as the opportunity presented itself.

As we began the game, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. I was angry at Scott for his comments about Tara, but I also felt a sense of responsibility to protect her from any potential heartbreak. I knew I had to stay strong and focused on our relationship, no matter what others thought or said.

As we began the game, Ethan and I were paired together while Dean teamed up with Scott. The energy on the ice was intense and exhilarating, as always. But suddenly, I felt myself losing balance and sliding on the ice, landing flat on my back. I quickly got back on my feet, only to realize that Scott had purposely pushed me down to score a goal. The others were too caught up in the game to notice his unsportsmanlike behavior, but I could see the anger simmering within him.

After the game, Ethan confronted Scott, asking him what was wrong. Scott remained silent and skated away, his frustration evident in his every move. Ethan and Dean headed to the changing room, and I followed suit, deciding to reach out to Tara about what had just happened. I quickly pulled out my phone and sent her a text, feeling the need to confide in someone about the incident on the ice.

I wished Derek could wake up as soon as possible from the coma so peace could come back to the Duncan family. Stassie would finally be okay because her brother was back, and I would go public with Tara and let Stassie go. Possibly,  get this over and done with, but Scott did not seem like he could forgive me anytime sooner.

By the time I snuck into Tara's bedroom, I found her just coming out of the shower. Her hair was now a blonde Bob and she was wearing my blue sweatshirt with her pink pyjama shorts.

"si pohľad pre boľavé oči,"I said as she ran up to me for a hug.

"I don't know what that means but I hope it means you love my new hair," she said and walked towards her bed.

"I need an entire Slovak dictionary now," she added and I joined her.

"I said you're a sight for sore eyes," I  translated and she flushed. Being in this room suddenly felt like an escape from everything I had just encountered. It felt like a peaceful escape.

"You said you wanted to talk," she reminded me and I let out a huge sigh.

"It's nothing to worry about, just boy stuff," I reassured her but she was not buying it.

"Are you sure?" She added and I nodded . I just did not want to worry her, especially after all the worrying she has been doing all to herself and worrying about the names Dana called her.

"I hope Derek wakes up sooner," she said and I opened my arms for her to sleep in them.

"He will. We just need to be patient now," I said and looked at her. Her green eyes were gaping at me with so much love and care, I felt so peaceful here with my princess.

"You can't come here and sleep," she said, but her hand was so soothing on my head.

"Your hand is so soothing though," I added and she removed it but I grabbed it and placed it back on my head again so she could continue running her hands through it softly but she giggled when I did that.

"Can I tell you something?" I suddenly said to her as she brushed my hair again.

"Yes," she said and I opened my eyes and looked into hers.

"I was scared to go there with you. With what happened at the hotel," I confessed and felt her hand leave my hair.

"Trust me, i wanted to so bad but your eyes were so pure, like a river. They always showed me great innocence and i not being pure enough feared touching you because i did not want to impurify your soul," I confessed but she smiled kindly.

"Michal, you did no such thing. If anything you completed me," she said and scooted much closer to me. I felt a peck on my forehead.

"I love you," I told her and this time I pulled her into a kiss, solidifying my feelings for her.
