Gwen undid her ponytail and ran a hand through her hair. She couldn't get all the dead bodies out of her head.
She also couldn't stop thinking. What if Miranda's dead. Or daisy or Stacy. What if jasper and Monty were dead. They could ALL be dead.
That's what worried her that they were all dead and they didn't know. She just wanted to hold them again.
Her thoughts came to a halt as Liam sat next to her. "What exactly happened Gwen? From the beginning."
Gwen locked eyes with her father before looking to the ground then back at Liam. Sophia sat down with a confused expression. "Yeah I wanna know too."
Gwen fiddled with her hands. She wanted to be anywhere but here explaining this. But nevertheless she explained everything from the moment they landed to the second the grounders invaded the camp. She told them everything she could remember leaving out certain details about her and Tanya.
"So things are kinda of a blur for me I was in and out of it all." She took a breath. "I met someone down here and I was out of camp for some time so for any other details ask Matt."
"I'm just glad you're alright." Liam said as he hugged her. She breathed in deeply. Moonshine and musk. Comfort. This smell brought her comfort.
Despite all of her fears and worries Gwen felt comfortable in this moment. She didn't know where her other family and friends were but Marlene, Liam, Sophia,Matt, Bellamy, Finn, Raven, Murphy and Monroe were all counted for that's all she could ask for.
"Me too." She replied honestly. "I missed you so much." She said as she hugged him tighter.
Marlene sat down. "I only have a second but Gwen you were with her, was she mad at me. Daisy does she hate me?"
Gwen shook her head with sad eyes. "Never. She may have been sad that y'all sent us down here but she could never hate you. I-i think she would love to see you when we find them she was scared you died, she's been through it down here." Gwen stood and stretched her arms. "I'm very tired I haven't slept in days."
Gwen laughed lightly at all their confused expressions. "Kind of hard to sleep when you're fighting for your life or just scared for your life in general. None of us actually thought we were going to survive, we just knew we had to try. And thanks to some help I'm alive but tired so I'm going to sleep."
She patted Sophia's shoulder before walking away. Her missing friends still in her head.
"Gwen! Gwen!?" She heard an unfamiliar voice say. She shook her head and kept walking. "Gwen Christine Kane!?"
She snapped her head around. Only one person knows my middle name.
"Brandon?" She let out a little laugh as she came face to face with her old friend.
"In the flesh. God when was the last time we seen each other?" He asked his face scrunching up slightly.
Gwen played with her fingers as she bit her lip slightly. "Uh. Years?" She laughed out. "You um.. definitely grew up. You have muscles now and excuse me what happened to your squeaky voice?"
He laughed along with her. "It's been a long time Gwen, and your one to talk you are definitely more grown up now. And puberty did you good." He winked.
Gwen blushed. "Whatever. You too." She said softly before her face went back to normal. "Anyway, when was the last time you seen Matt?"
"After he got arrested. I went to visit him. He seemed ok."
She nodded to his words. "Yeah he was happy down here or more relaxed until we almost died." She laughed dryly. "Umm, he was still pinning after Daisy without her noticing."
