The short life of...

Truly, she had never felt love or anything that was remotely good. Her whole life she was raised to be mean, to be a bully. Her mother Polly was a big bitch who made her daughter the punchline of every joke. Polly was never meant to be a mother. She was a wild teen who slept with the wrong guy and ended up pregnant with a kid she didn't want. Once said guy found out that Polly was pregnant he got himself floated, said it was better than having a kid with a girl he doesn't love. Oscar really was the worst person Polly could have slept with and having his baby was a big misstep on her part. Nine months later and Polly was having a baby girl and as much as she wanted to love her she just couldn't, not fully. Every time she looked at her daughter all she could see was the face of the man who chose being floated over being with her. So over the years she bullied her very own daughter. 

So the outcome of her bullying was a young Elena bullying others around her. She had a small group of friends that were a carbon copy of her. She also had Daisy who was her best friend. The problem was that Elena did NOT know how to be a good friend so she eventually lost Daisy to Gwen and her friends who showed Daisy that friends don't treat you the way Elena treats people. 

With no real friends, Elena became an even bigger asshole. Polly died and Elena made it everyone's problem. She wasn't close with her mom but she was the only family she had so when she was gone Elena didn't know how to deal. But after time her plan to get herself arrested came to pass and she was confident they were going to float her. She made sure her crime would guarantee her death but it didn't.

Instead she and ninety nine other teens got sent to earth and she was still a bitch but then Wells happened. He saw the good in her, the good she could be. He believed she could be a better person and he made her believe the same. After becoming friends with him she realized she really did want to become a better person, she didn't want to be the same old bully who made others miserable just because her life sucked. She wanted to be happy and help others be happy. 

wells showed her she could be kind, and that she could make friends but then he died and she was devastated. Thankfully Elena had found someone to keep his memories at bay.

Stacy had the brightest eyes and kindest smile when she was talking. her hair bounced perfectly and she  was just so angelic. everything about her was heavenly. 

Elena had seen Stacy around and knew her as one of Gwen's many friends. Although she never saw her in this type of light until recently. And boy was Elena shocked when she found out Stacy  liked her too. But Elena had been such an asshole why did Stacy ignore all that? Well Elena did not ask, she simply enjoyed their time together.  

Stacy made Elena feel things she never had before. She made her feel safe and loved. Elena was finally happy to be alive and to be in love. Sure, things weren't the best in the world around them but the life they created for themselves was perfect.

Well things were perfect. Jaha showed up with a 'key' to the city of light and pretty much screwed over everyone, Skaikru and grounders. 

Stacy got chipped and became a completely different person, Allie had taken over and erased all of Stacy's memories. So Elena had to partner up with people she never would've thought of. She swallowed her pride and fought to get back to Stacy.  After many peculiar conversations she was able to see Stacy once again. 

Life is a funny thing, but funny in a cruel way. Elena started life with someone who was supposed to love and protect her. Instead that person neglected her, that person broke her down with every cruel word.  

And then Elenas life then ended by someone who DID love and protect her. Someone who picked up all the pieces and put Elena back together even when she didn't break her. The worst thing was that Stacy snapped back to reality right after she plunged the knife into Elena. She prefers she came back before or long after Elena was dead. 

Elena saw the regret and sadness in Stacy's eyes and she wished she could make it better. However, the only thing she could do is tell Stacy that it's okay and that she didn't blame her. Because how could she blame her? it wasn't her fault at all. The only thing Stacy was guilty of was feeling so down that she wanted to escape and took the chip. But the people Elena blames is Jaha, for supplying the chips, Allie for resorting to murder and herself. She blamed herself for not watching Stacy better, for not being a better girlfriend. And she blamed herself for being a bitch her whole life. Shes convinced that the knife that stabbed her is karma for all the bad things she did. 

Elena Hawke lived a short yet eventful life. Her father got himself floated, her mother neglected her, her bff left her, She got arrested and prayed for death to find her, She got sent to earth, she changed for the better, she watched people she cares for get hurt and killed, she fell in love, she fought to survive and then after all that she died at the hands of her lover. 

so her story didn't start OR end in the best way but Stacy made the middle the best story ever told. Because of the beautiful girl, Elena was able to make friends and be more open. She's sad to be dying but she was also okay with it. Elena had known pain, sadness, anger, neglect, hunger and loss but she also knew love, light , laughter and how to actually live, so she was fine with death. 

Not the way it happened, not when it happened and definitely not by who, she was just fine with it happening. 

Her final wish as she laid on the cold floor under a devastated Stacy, was that the blonde would feel the love and happiness she allowed Elena to feel before her untimely demise. And as Elena took her final breath she oddly couldn't feel anything but gratitude. Not just for Stacy but for all the people who gave her another chance. Elena blinked once and then she was gone. Her body went limp and her breathing stopped. 

Death is inevitable and it was calling her name, ending another short life.

A/N: SO this was supposed to be posted a long time ago but I forgot all about it. Luckily I remembered whenever I was rereading duplicity for the 50th time. Anyway this is of course another filler, but I also really wanted to show some of Elena's life and how her home situation was when she was on the ark. this does not really dive too much into it but it shows the general idea.
