Gwen was staring at the floor as Layla talked. Honestly she wasn't even paying attention. She was just in her own head.

Then Azgeda warriors walked in. They unlocked the group and walked to the cell door. "Don't talk. Just follow."

They eyed each other warily but nonetheless followed the warriors. The group of warriors led them outside where a bunch of people were waiting. They all took spots beside Clarke who was watching King Roan.

"I know you've all come for an execution, but no one else will die here today." Gwen smirked as Echos face fell. "The city of light has fallen and there is no Commander left to rule us. Until another night blood ascends I- king Roan of Azgeda, eldest son of Nia, grandson of Theo am caretaker of the throne and keeper of the flame." Gwen rolled her eyes at how theatrical the whole announcement was but she also couldn't help the smirk that found it way onto her face.

A grounder started speaking out and Gwen turned her head. Layla nudged her. "Gia, she's Indras daughter." Gwen nodded along and turned her attention back to Roan.

"Until another ascends, Azgeda honors and will defend the coalition of the last true commander Lexa Kom trikru. Including the thirteenth clan." People began to mumble instantly and Gwen was already getting a headache. Atleast roan was sticking up for them. "Let it be known that an attack against skaikru is an attack against us all."

Soon everyone dispersed and Gwen was left standing with Layla, Beatrix and Nicole. "I did not think we were going to get out of this. I'm ready to go home." She groaned as she stretched her arms over her head.

"You're aware you could've left a long time ago, yes?" Beatrix asked with a raised brow.

"Of course I do. But where's the fun in that. I never take the easy way Bea." Gwen smirked as she turned to walk towards her father.

Beatrix trailed after her. "Bea? Really?"

"Just trying out nicknames. What about trixie?" Gwen responded with a snicker. "Or beat."

"Not the last one but I guess the other two work." Beatrix grumbled as she kicked a rock.

Echo and Toni walked up to Bellamy who stood before everyone else. "From your king. With this you'll be safe in any of our lands."

Gwen ignored the moment Bellamy and Echo had as Toni walked to her and Beatrix. "Welcome back to the coalition." Was the last thing she heard the spy say.

Toni sighed. "You know I hate to say this."

Beatrix shook her head at her. "No. Please don't tell me." Toni made a face full of regret. "I have to go with them don't I?"

"To be safe, yes."

"But Roan accepts them, why can't people know?"

Toni rubbed her temple and put her hand on Beatrixs shoulder. "Because everything can change at anytime and I need you safe no matter what."

"Fine. I'm not going to like it but I guess."

Bellamy walked closer. "Time to go."

Marcus nodded at him and Clarke. "We'll do our best to keep the king on his throne."

Clarke smiled softly. "And we'll find a way to beat the radiation."

Octavia looked over at the whole group. "If either of you screw this up it's over." Everyone looked at her. "No pressure." Gwen suppressed a laugh as Bellamy scolded his sister.

"This is serious, O. If anyone finds out why roan helped us, it'll be every clan for itself. The king will fall and they'll come after us."

Octavia simply gave him a face that expressed she already knew that and that he should shut up. "It's getting dark. Let's do this." Clarke mumbled as an uncomfortable silence fell over them.
