Finally, I'm updating this after what feels like years. In fact, it's probably been years. Anyhow, here's a new chapter. Hoping to finish this one off and give everyone the closure they've been waiting for :)

A tip: go back and read from New Beginnings, because it'll make things a lot clearer;)

"The fun begins," Vixen inhaled sharply, her wicked expression leaving a lasting impression on absolutely no one. I could see the Akuma down below. It had turned someone into what looked like a normal human — a normal resident of Paris.

The closer I looked, the more confused I got. First it looked like one person, and then another. Then another. I realized that it was shifting forms. Whoever it touched, it quickly turned into. The pattern was becoming consistent, and the Akuma was getting closer.

I watched as it scaled the building in an inhumane fashion.

"Get ready for chaos to erupt, Fake Raven," Vixen snarled at me. "Bet you like thinking you've got Chat Noir wrapped around your finger. I saw you two together. I saw how you were looking at him, like some sick puppy dog. You know, Hawkmoth likes me better because I'm not an awful two-faced slut!"

"Adrien doesn't love you!" I responded, in the most petty fashion I could muster. Standing atop the building with the entitled bitch who called herself Vixen, the only thing I could do to buy time before the akuma finally hit me, was to insult her to death. "He only pretends to because it makes his Dad happy!"

It seemed to do the trick.

"YOU STUPID BITCH!" She tackled me over the side of the building and we both fell, tumbling through the endless sea of clouds. It had begun to rain, and splatters hit my face as I tried to get my bearings.

I spread my wings. Almost like muscle memory, they rose from my back like a fucked-up phoenix reborn. But I wasn't a phoenix. I was Raven. This is what I was meant to do.

And Lila/Vixen, fell. I didn't hear her crunch on the hard ground as she made impact, but I could see her crumpled form lying at the bottom of the building.

I guess foxes can't fly. And I guess, Hawkmoth didn't care about her as much as she thought he did.

The problem of the Akuma was still a matter at hand.

It had discovered that shockingly, I wasn't on the side of Hawkmoth anymore. The sky seemed to sense the energy shift because it crowed angrily. Storm clouds gathered in a harsh conference, deciding to bucket water down onto the screaming citizens of Paris.

I could see the raggedly approaching Akuma, who had taken on the form of some small child from the crowd. It crawled across the building, face pouring with rain and scabby hands gripping at the concrete.

It yelled continuously, sentiments I couldn't hear over the storm.

"What was that?" I called in acknowledgement. "You're upset because your Master, Hawkmoth, is a motherfucking idiot and you have no real power here?"

All that was left to do was get rid of Hawkmoth. His real identity, which was still concealed to me, would soon be discovered. And once that was done, I'd be free.

"You've got a sharp tongue."

Lightning crackled. Materializing behind me seemed to be a talent of Chat Noir's. I could vaguely see his outline one the rain-stricken building. His face was momentarily awash in the light from the sky.

"Hawkmoth's apprentice is dead," I said in response.

Good girl.

"You can stop talking in my head now." I took three careful steps back, my eyes staying on the approaching Akuma. "I know who you are."

"Shame, I was rather enjoying it," Chat Noir smirked. "I guess our telepathic connection just wasn't meant to be."

"How did we even get a telepathic connection?"

"Happens, I guess, when you bring someone back to life."

"Shit." The Akuma flew at me as my distraction cost me dearly.

And suddenly, in a flurry of limbs and wings, there were two of me.

Two identical Ravens, staring down Chat Noir on the darkened building.
