Rin was guided by this demon; she walked in a hypnotic state.
The demon led her to a cliff wall; where it moved a large stone to reveal a hiding space, a small cave.
Rin walked inside willingly, then suddenly she shook her head as the spell wore off. "What?" She looked around, "How did I get inside this cave?" Then the sound of crying children filled her ears. When she looked deeper into the cave there was a bunch of children huddled together, crying. She walked up to them curiously, "What are you all doing here?" She asked.
"We were kidnapped by that demon!" One pointed behind her.
Rin turned, "What demon?" She then saw a lanky-looking demon with a large head lying by the door, blocking their way out.
The kids then continued to cry, "I want to go home." One spoke.
"I want my mommy." Another cried.
"We're gonna get eaten alive!" Another sobbed.
Rin looked around, bewildered by their fear. It was only a demon, but these children looked to be here a while.
The demon sat up annoyed, "Be quiet!" He barked at them.
The children fearfully stifled their cries and sobs. "He's so scary." One whimpered.
Rin looked back at the demon, "He's not scary."
"What do you mean?" One of the older kids shouted, "He's a demon."
Rin walked away and sat near the wall, "Bandits are far scarier than demons." She said flatly, thinking about her family.
The kids looked at her in disbelief, "Bandits? Demons are way scarier." One said.
"Not even close." Rin replied looking at them.
The kids couldn't help but stare at her in disbelief.
"Bandits go around killing people for no reason at all," She explained.
One boy rubbed his face, "How do you know? What are you saying?"
"My father, mother, and brothers were all brutally murdered by bandits." She told them, a slight frustration filled her.
The child sat back, realizing what she had lost, "Yeah, but a demon is our problem right now."
Rin looked at him and smiled, "It's all right." She said comfortingly. "I know they'll come to rescue us."
"Who will?" The eldest boy pried.
Rin just smiled and sat, thinking about Sesshomaru and Chelsea coming to get her.
Chelsea was walking quickly.
Sesshomaru was right behind her, her energy was intense and harsh. "Do you know where you are going?" He decided to ask.
"Yes." Her voice was flat.
He looked at her, eyes slightly wide.
Chelsea kept her pace, her eyes locked forward. "I felt something earlier, I wasn't sure what it was, but now that I am focused on it." She paused for a moment; her jaw got tight. "What I couldn't figure out with this strange energy is why it felt the way it did."
"You figured it out?" He asked.
"Because there are children involved, and this demon knows how to hide himself using them." Her pace quickened slightly, "They just better not be hurting them to do that."
Sesshomaru let out a sigh, her protective instinct was something he admired.
"Rin!" Jaken continued to call out into the dark night. "Lord Sesshomaru!" He was all alone, "RIN!" He wondered exhaustedly back and forth. Finally falling against a tree, he sat. "Oh." He then gritted his teeth, "Chelsea!" He yelped, as he swallowed his pride.
