Lily

Holding Dad, like that, felt complete. He even held me. He even hugged me back. I felt like his princess again. His special witch. He had a calm in his eyes when I looked up. He grinned at me slightly to stop me from crying but I couldn't stop. I missed that embrace. He was always beside me. He loved me so much because he said that I was his daughter and his only. It was like that in our family. James, Teddy, and Albus were completely on Mum's side while Dad and I were on the other. When we were out of their sight, we went back into the room of Requirements. James and Al sat on the couches and looked at me.

"Please don't be mad," I mumbled.

"We're not, Lil." Al shook his head and I sat on the couch beside him, wrapping myself up in the throw. My lips still trembled and more sobbing broke out. I didn't want to cry this much but really how long had we had to grieve for Mum and Dad? I couldn't get their bodies out of my head. I couldn't get Mum's sacrifice out of my head. She was so scared but she hid us anyway.

"Lily, Lily baby, come with me!" Mum caught my arm as I was just coming downstairs to see mum and dad in Dad's office.

"Mum?" Her worry was scaring me as we ran upstairs.

"Shh, shh. Look at me." She paused, "Go grab James and bring him to my office."

"Mum..."

"Lily!" She cupped my cheeks, "Please."

I felt like crying for some reason but she kissed my forehead and smiled, still worried.

"Please?"

I nodded and ran for James' room. Mum had gone to Albus' room's direction.

"James!" I entered his room, finding him doing some push ups on the floor.

"Lily! Knock-"

"We have to go!" I yanked at his wrist.

"What?"

"It's Mum. Please! We have to go to her office."

"Did soemthing happen to her-"

He was only leaving his room when loud banging sounded downstairs.

"Fuck!" He hissed.

"James?"

"Its a breach. Come with me." He ran back into his room, coming back out with his cloak of invisibilty and taking my hand. We ran down the stairs and reached Mum's office, to find her with Albus.

"Baby, hide. James!" She yelled past Albus, scaring me more. Mum was pale and her eyes watery. She was barely catching her breath. She pushed all three of us to the darkest corner of the room, past the chest of drawers.

"James, you keep them under here. Promise me."

"Mum whats going on?" I managed and she looked at me, catching my fear. He face released a forced breath and she laid a hand on my cheek.

"Nothing, sweetheart. Just some people in the house. We don't want them to find you. That's all." I could feel the tremble in her fingers. I knew my mother wasn't scared of any intruders but she was scared as a mother. Knowing that we were in the house was her worst fear and she wanted to do anything to keep us safe. I felt absolutely pathetic for being so scared.
