Teddy
Least I expected was to see the crowd accompanying James in this task. Seeing the faces of those two so strongly in resemblance to Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry was almost scary.
"I see you've asked for a friend." Merlin showed up, who was surprisingly a modern red jumper-dressed, white bearded man with a humble look.
"This is my brother, Teddy." James introduced and I shook Merlin's hand, a little panicked inside.
"Pleasure." He smiled.
"You're not opposing this?" James questioned and Merlin cocked a brow.
"Why would I?" He shrugged, "This is your mission and you choose your soldiers, no?"
James gulped, looking at me.
"So what's the plan now?" Charlus asked. His resemblance to Uncle Harry was strange but I could still feel the put off from him. Maybe because it bothered me, their resemblance really, or the fact that this man had a stoic look but a timid aura to him. Uncle Harry had a stoic look but it matched his aura. He was kind and gentle as well but that was a sight only visible to his family.
"Well, we are going to find Carlisle." Merlin sighed, "In the year 1999."
"Pardon?" James jumped.
"Not your past really." Merlin turned away to reveal a golden globe-like ball, running his fingers around the golden specks that made some sort of writings on it, go along the circumference of the sphere.
"Carlisle is hiding in a Motif World, isn't he?" Belvina spoke and Merlin smirked.
"A Motif World?" I gulped, "I thought that was a myth or something only the highest grade sorcerers can make."
"It was a world created by myself you see. A world quite similar to yours but my home. Being myself, I can't exactly exist in the real world."
A motif World was a world created by a wizard's imagination. It was as if something constructed a set of the toy house and made themselves live in it in their imagination. But it took a really powerful Wizard to do that for it was an unbelievable power. Usually, it was written in a book and only the Wizard who possessed it could walk into it, living the life with the pages of the book.
Last person to come close was Voldemort when he attempted to write a world in a simple diary.
"Did Carlisle steal that book from you?" James asked. So he knew what it was.
"Klaus did." Merlin sighed, "Dumbledore was my apprentice you see."
"Holy shit!" This came out of my mouth without my will , "Sorry."
"Your Apprentice? Dumbledore used to be an apprentice?"
"Yes. And Klaus managed to steal the book after the Wizarding War. Ginny Weasley was no longer here to protect the artifact so sadly it was stolen. McGonegall, who became the Headmistress, sadly couldn't protect since she was unaware of its existence here in the first place."
"So mum knew about the motif world?"
"No. Just that there was an artifact she was to guard for Dumbledore as he couldn't trust anyone with it except the only witch or wizard who owed their life to the oath."
"So, why hasn't mum mentioned anything till now?"
"After Albus died, Ginny had no connection to the oath. She is no longer entitled to protect it, hence she has no memory of it. They had made the unbreakable vow with a bit of a twist added by yours truly" He smiled to himself, "You see, I didn't want Ginny to die just for my sake so I made it so that if one of the two were to die, the oath would break and the other would lose recollection of such an oath. In Ginny's Case, the only way she would know the existence of the artifact is through the vow-"
