The Raid

Lily

"Petrificus Totalus!" Uncle Eddie called out and the offender froze to the floor. He stood back up and ran further down the forest with me in his hand. I yelped when we ran into Aunt Hermione.

"What happened to you?" Uncle Ron looked between us.

"Wrong blast." Uncle Eddie gulped.

"Aunt Hermione, you okay?" I noticed her dusty look. She smiled a little, nodding.

"That way." I pointed past her at the large light coming from around the house, "I think that's a door."

"Hermione and Lily, go ahead of us. We'll crawl around you. In case it's a trap." Uncle Ed ordered. Aunt Hermione exchanged a look with Uncle Ron and he nodded at her. She sighed with shut eyes and cocked her head for me. I walked with her, with my wand high. I was ready to use magic for her. She was expecting too. If my calculation was right, our dear Rosie was on the way. I blushed at the thought and surveyed the area around her. Not just hers and Uncle Ron's but my cousin's life depended on this woman as well. A man ran from behind and she was defending us against an offender from her side. I shut my eyes.

Focus Lily. Feel it through your body. Dad's voice echoed in my head.

I opened my eyes and the blast coming my way was blocked by my hands. Aunt Hermione gasped beside me. I gulped and looked back at her, "Dad taught me." I chuckled. She shook her head snickering and we ran for the door. We were nearing when a leap owed jumped in front of us, dragging a man down from the bushes. Uncle Ron froze him and Uncle Ed joined us as well. They raised their wands.

"No, that's my brother! That's Albus!" I screamed and they froze. Albus gave a small rumble. Suddenly, in a red blast, he flew away and whimpered.

"Albus!" I screamed.

"Expulso!" We heard the offender exploded. I looked up and Dad was running for us. I ran back to Albus. He turned back human and I crouched beside him.

"Al, Al." I cried. He sat up, holding his head. His lips were red and his cheek was bruised.

"I'm okay, Lil." He nodded.

"Hermione, Ron, Eddie, cover out." Dad yelled and I found him and James running for us.

"Albus?" James huffed, sliding on his knees beside us. James was alright, just a bit dusty.

"Albus?" Dad grazed his bruise with a gentle thumb. Albus nodded.

"Dad, Dad... I lost mom." He whispered, my heart dropped.

"What do you mean?" James hissed.

"She's with Uncle Neville but I saw Lily and the guy was about to attack..."

"It's alright. You saved her. You three, with me. We go for the house. Now." He stood. We helped Albus up and headed for the door. Albus stood, staring at us with a rage in his eyes and suddenly, he burst back in a leopard. He gained his paws once then shook his head once and then rumbled a growl, walking dangerously ahead of us.

"I'm going to look for mum." I tugged at Dad's arm.

"No, Lily, no."

"Dad, please. I have to find her!" I pushed him away and ran.

"Lily!" I heard a small yell but I was gone. I could hear a huff and froze. I was being a watched. I looked around and bit my lip. I could form a shielded around me. I focused on it but I felt too tired suddenly. I wasn't good at forming a protective shield. Just a block once of twice, it sucked, I couldn't use magic.

"Bombarda!" A spell flew by my ear and the person crawling to me suddenly blasted away to bits. My eyes widened at the sight.

"Lily!" I turned and Mum was running to me.
