Lena's POV

Agreeing to meet with Tess wasn't something easy for me, but with Stef being so soft with me, and just her asking me to do something for her, that it could make her happy, I just... I melted completely and I was uncapable of saying no to her...

I don't want to see Tess, I don't want to speak with her but... for Stef I'll do anything, and I'm willing to keep an open mind for her. I will listen to whatever that woman has to say, and maybe Stef is right... maybe she has changed...

Before the accident, Stef said that she almost cheated on me, and yes, I was almost sure that it was with Tess, but I was never sure of it, so what if it's not the case... what if I had it all wrong. Maybe Stef was at a bar that night or something. So, for Stef, I'll give Tess a chance.

Today, Kamaya was at school as usual, and Stef has physical therapy. Now that she can drive, she doesn't need me or Tess to drive her, and so she must have encouraged Tess to take this opportunity to come talk to me this very day.

So right as Stef was about to get out of the house, I heard her shout my name so that I come see her.

When I saw that Tess was already here, I was a bit annoyed, but I remind myself to keep an open mind and seeing Stef being so enthusiastic for once, was helping me to do so.

"Hi Lena..." Tess says almost shyly as I look at her, then at Stef who gave me a look.

"Hi Tess. Come on in." I say softly as it was terribly awkward and even Stef stood there not really knowing what to do until her brain woke up.

"Alright... well... I'm going to be late for PT so... I'll leave you two to talk. I don't want to find anyone dead or almost dead when I come back, alright?" Stef jokes as Tess smile as I give Stef a look to indicate that she's annoying, and she smiles at me to make me melt again and that's exactly what I did...

"Be careful on the road, honey. You call if you need anything, okay?" I say, for I'm worried every time she's out. Especially now that the doctor gave her the green light to drive again, when she's not totally healed...

"Yes, mom." She jokes again, as I give her a look again, for she drives me crazy sometimes.

"Yes, Lena, I promise I'll be careful, and I'll call you if something happens." She reassures for which I'm glad as I finally smile at her and so she smiles at me, very satisfy with herself for she got her way with me so easily, I swear it was infuriating. But I couldn't help myself...

Stef then walked out and closed the door, leaving me and Tess there, having no idea where to begging.

"So... you two seem in a better place..." Tess says softly, yet something in her tone felt odd to me, but like I promised, I need to keep an open mind.

"Yeah... we... we're working on it." I say not wanting to say too much to her about my relationship with my wife since it was none of her business. She nods at me, smiling as I was thinking that I couldn't seem intimidated or threaten by her. I need to show her that I'm confident and with no doubt of myself at all.

"So, since it's hot, I think we should go on the balcony upstairs, I was actually having a drink, I will just need to grab one more glass." I say with more assurance.

We did as I said and then once on the balcony, as a silence started to fill the air, Tess managed to break it.

"So Lena, when Stef said that you agreed to talk to me, I was a bit surprised but I wanted to say that I appreciate it. It's important for Stef that we get along. I just want what's best for her." she says calmly as I was listening, sipping on my glass of wine that was very much needed to keep my mind open.
