Summary: Logan finally asks Patton to Prom, through a very unique and special way.

When Patton got back from school, he was bombarded by the day-care kids. It was reaching parent pick-up time, so they had just finished playing in the garden and were being called inside to hear a story. Usually, Patton would beg his mom to let him lead story time as he loved the excited faces... But today there was the little boy that had started attending day-care a little less recently.

"Theo, buddy! Have you had a good day today?" Theo was under the tree, exploring, probably learning about bugs and insects. The boy looked up when he heard his name, running towards Patton and waving.

Theo then took Patton's hand, signing the word for 'look' that he learnt through speech therapy a while ago. Patton signed back 'what? Show me' to the best of his ability until the pair reached the tree again. Theo pointed to the ground, where a bunch of sticks lay in a pattern. The pattern of a heart.

'Love you' Theo signed clumsily, with a wide smile on his face as he watched his fingers. Patton's heart exploded, Theo was such a cute kid – his parents were lucky to have him.

"I love you too!" Patton cooed, squeezing Theo's cheek. Theo then shouted 'cat' at the top of his lungs and ran off again, probably to find a book themed around cats that of course Patton would read to him. Then they'll probably play with his speech device that he just got as a present from his speech therapist – he loved having a toy that helped him talk with everyone around him.

Patton absolutely loved recess. The chaos of the children running around him was exciting, there was always something to do or someone to talk to or play with – he felt he was back in elementary school again! Back when he was in elementary school, both he and Roman were always the centre of attention, creating dozens of games.

He was occupied tying the shoes of all the kindergarteners, but he could hear the laughs of the first graders under the tree. And he could hear Logan's laugh. It didn't come out too often, but Logan had a plan to do this recess and recruited three quarters of the class for it. From a distance – it looked like the children were collecting sticks and bringing it to Logan who was placing it down on the ground again. It looked like a strange game, but the kids were screaming in enjoyment.

Logan was captivating in the sunlight. His brown hair blew in the wind, slightly covering his glasses before he brushed it out the way. He was wearing a blue Doctor Who shirt with loose jeans. It was interesting how comfortable he had gotten over the school year. In September he wasn't seen at school without a button-up, a tie, and skinny jeans but slowly he got used to running after children and walking around with friends – and now he dressed like a normal teen. And he looked so much more comfortable in the relaxed clothes.

So of course, once all the kindergarteners could walk to the playground, Patton had to make his way to the tree to be with Logan. "Mr Baker! You can't come here yet!" One of the first graders, Thomas, sprinted towards Patton when he started coming over. Nico was close behind him as he always was.

"What are you planning?" Patton giggled, only met with Thomas and Nico staring up at him and putting a finger to their lips. Logan's way of saying it was a secret.

"Get lost!" Nico shouted excitedly, pushing Patton gently towards the swing-set and sticking his tongue out before the two first grade boyfriends ran away again. Patton leant by the swing-set and watched from a safe distance. Logan high-fived the boys as they approached and sent them collecting sticks again.

Patton was soon brought into a conversation about cooties with some third graders, getting so invested he didn't realise the storm of first graders coming towards him and collapsing on him in their excitement. "Mr Baker! Mr Baker! Mr Croft has a gift for you!"

When Patton turned, his heart almost skipped a beat. Logan was stood under the oak tree, a hand through his hair and his head slightly tilted, as he fiddled with his glasses and had a half-smile. He wished he could jump on Logan and hug him at this moment – but apparently there was a present to receive first.

"Hey, um..." Logan sounded breathless as he spoke, his eyes were wide, and his cheeks were pink. "Me and the kids created something for you." He then looked to the ground, and Patton followed... To a question he had dreamed of Logan asking.

The creation was a collection of twigs brought into shapes of letters. And the letters created the question 'will you go to Prom with me?'. This was the best Promposal he could ever have!

"Oh, my goodness – oh my God – yes – yes!" The first graders were cheering and dispersing as Patton leapt onto Logan's arms. Logan flinched but took Patton in his arms, wrapping his arms around Patton's chest and burying his head in his shoulder.

This was a dream for Logan too.

"Guys! Guys! We have news!" Patton ran into the library, Logan in tow, with Virgil, Roman, Remus and Janus all stuffed between a line of bookshelves and a wall. But they all looked up when they heard Patton's voice and a nervous-looking Logan behind him.

"Are you guys dating?" A groan came from all four friends and then a laugh as both teens had blushing cheeks. It seemed Patton needed a couple of seconds to collect himself after that question, so Logan answered.

"I asked him to Prom." Amazed faces all around as Logan sat down next to Roman. Roman brought him into a half-hug and a ruffle of the hair. "I just laid a few sticks in the field at recess, the kids helped me with it, and Patton liked it."

Patton looked like he was about to explode with excitement. "I very much did."

The nervous teens were sat opposite each other, just watching each other, until Logan felt a vibration in his pocket from a very familiar group chat. The chat with only Virgil and Roman.

King-of-the-Friendship-Group ❤️ ❤️ : OH MY GOD GIVE US ALL THE DEETS.

Logan: I still feel like I'll have a heart attack at the fact I've done it. We'll talk later.

The-Only-Sane-One: Take your time L – but we do want the tea.

"We've also got more news!" Roman cheered and grabbed his brother's arm, lifting it up to the air in triumph, while Remus looked away sheepishly and to Janus. Janus also smiled and held his hand. "Two of our members here have officially worked enough to graduate. I've missed lunch break with you bro."

Remus kissed Janus' cheek. A look of longing escaped Logan's eye as his eyes flicked to Patton. "I was mainly emotional support. Good thing I passed everything though."

Janus and Remus were soulmates – it was obvious by the way they looked at each other. Hopefully, Logan thought as he watched Patton excitedly ask questions about the couple's future, he would have such happy celebration with Patton too. And Prom was just the start of it.
