Summary: Under the stars, Logan is finally honest about his feelings with Patton. They end up having a sweet movie date and Logan's poetry book is opened again to add more material.

Happy Easter and happy penultimate chapter! Next week is the last chapter of this book.

Logan wasn't thinking much. He just wanted Patton, it felt like an animal instinct. But as soon as Logan heard Patton shouting for him - he just had to be near him. He searched everywhere, eventually finding Patton sat on the bleachers at the other end of the field Logan left Virgil. He was looking up at the stars and the moment just seemed so... perfect.

"Sorry about running away." Logan said as he climbed the bleachers, Patton just continued to look up at the sky. "It's a beautiful night out here though."

"It is." Patton mumbled back, allowing the silence to extend. Logan extended the silence too, staring upwards, tracing his eyes around the constellations. But out of the corner of his eyes he could see Patton lower his head, watching the nerd next to him, then he lowered his gaze towards Logan's hand for a moment before he looked up again.

So Logan grabbed Patton's hand. It was silent, simple, and under the stars. But Patton's cheeks were pink, and he stroked Logan's thumb softly, giving up on the stars and focusing on the affection.

Patton shuffled closer to Logan and nudged his knee with his own, daring to whisper the question he had been wondering all night. "When you asked me to Prom, Lo... Was it just as a friend?"

Logan squeezed Patton's hand tighter and smirked, now looking at the bleachers where Virgil and Roman were probably hiding. "No. You're the one who made me realise I was gay." Logan's voice was a soft murmur, his Adam's apple was bobbing as he swallowed before turning to Patton. Staring into Patton's baby blue eyes – those pretty blue eyes.

The nervous nerd could feel the battle with his heart and his head. His heart was ready to grab Patton's cheeks, clash their mouths together, fully explore the nervous look mixed with the excited eyes that Patton was giving him. But his head knew he couldn't do that and still be sane at the end, and that Patton had limits too. There was only one question that could be asked. "Can you be my boyfriend? I think I'm ready for that."

Patton giggled and kissed Logan's cheek, watching him redden too at the affection. "Yeah, that sounds perfect right now."

Logan tried to keep his eye contact with Patton – but of course his eyes wondered. And they wondered to two figures walking onto the football field, one in a suit and the other in a red cape-like structure. They were holding hands, then standing close, and seemingly dancing. "Is that Roman and Virgil?"

Patton turned his head and gasped, his free hand on his heart and the other holding Logan tight. "I think it is! Aren't they so cute together, we should dance too! We can have our own private Prom with the music we like and no pushing, annoying people disturbing us."

That did sound amazing, but not right now. He was happy holding Patton's hand and taking things slow. He could see Patton as his first and final relationship so wanted to revel in every moment one by one. And this moment was under the stars, holding hands, and remembering how it felt for Patton to finally kiss him – even if it was only on the cheek...

"Patton?" The kiss was only on the cheek. But Logan could do more, he wanted more. When Patton heard his name he turned to his new boyfriend, a wide smile and the same pretty eyes. Logan put this thumb under Patton's chin, leaning closer, and whispering. "Is this OK?"

"More than O-" The kiss only lasted a few seconds, but it made Patton excited for more. His lips were so soft, and he was gentle as he tried and succeeded to make Patton swoon. He knew he could have an entire lifetime of this after just one kiss.

"Oh looovebiiiirds!" The taunting scream of Roman echoed just as Logan ended the kiss, watching Patton with care and concern. "When's the first date?"

"Are you guys alright not staying at mine tonight?" Patton shouted down at his friends, expecting them to need to make some calls or decide whether to stay together or go to their own separate houses. But the older couple just laughed, Roman snaking his arm around Virgil as Virgil burst into red and turned his face into Roman's chest. A thumbs-up was given... Logan and Patton left that as that – they didn't want to ask why Virgil was embarrassed this time.

When Logan's moms came to pick their darling son up from Prom, they were overjoyed to see Logan holding hands with the cheery teenager of his dreams. Mama's screams could be heard from Australia when the words: "Mama, Mom, Patton's my boyfriend now," escaped Logan's mouth. The two moms went straight to calling Patton son-in-law as soon as he hopped in the car.

Now it was reaching 11pm. Logan's moms had left the new couple alone (with protection – Mama's idea) a couple of hours ago and the TV was playing the low hum of Sherlock. The new couple had spent their first date chatting, kissing, and sharing hot chocolate and Crofters with lots of candy. A perfect evening, they both agreed.

It was past Patton's bedtime however, so he was asleep. He was leant against Logan's chest, his own chest raising and falling, Logan brushing his hand through his blond locks. He could be in this moment forever.

Beside Patton and Logan was Logan's poetry book. He had finally opened it in front of other people, and it was in front of his boyfriend. The pair had read through a few poems together, from free verse about ableist bullying to sonnets about Logan's sexuality crisis. With Patton asleep now, and Logan holding a pen, he had to write a poem about this moment he didn't want to end.

In the hush of night, where moonlight softly gleams,

Beside me lies a dream, a soulmate in my dreams.

As shadows dance upon the walls with grace,

My heart whispers love in this serene space.

In the tender silence, dreams unfold,

Wrapped in the quilt of a love untold.

The gentle cadence of your breathing, sweet,

Echoes the melodies our hearts repeat.

Soft moonbeams caress your peaceful face,

I trace each line with a lover's grace.

The rise and fall, a lullaby so divine,

As you sleep, my soulmate, forever mine.
