Summary: Logan and Patton's favourite first graders are getting married - at the big age of 6. The pair work together to make the wedding as good as possible and are surprised to find out someone else is getting married at the event.

The cupcakes Logan and Patton baked together went to their first grade class without hesitation, and the children were certainly very thankful. Their school day continued as normal, and this day the first graders were in the computer room doing an American History game. There wasn't much purpose for Logan and Patton being there apart from just watching them.

"Mr Croft! Mr Croft!" Thomas raised his hand as high as it could go and was turned away from his computer screen. He kept on shouting for his favourite teaching assistant until Logan came over. Logan thought he might be stuck on the game so knelt down to look at the screen... Thomas had other ideas. "Nico and I are getting married at recess!"

"Oh, really? That's fun! Are you stuck on this level?" By now both Patton and Logan were used to randomly hearing about what the first graders had for lunch or that their grandmother was visiting or that they had a certain game to play at recess – Logan usually held the power to get them back on track though. Not this time.

"Nope! Can you be the man that stands between us and says we're married?" Thomas was smiling widely at Logan and Nico was behind him, also watching but staying focused on his work as well.

It appears Logan just had to ride this conversation out. Who would break a pretend marriage anyway if it meant something to these kids? "Do you mean officiant?"

"That's a big word so I think so." Thomas responded matter of fact, turning when Nico tapped his shoulder to ask for help on the level Thomas had already completed. Thomas will definitely be as hyper as Roman when he's a high schooler. "Will you be our office-ant Sir?"

These two kids had the same dynamic Roman and Virgil have – maybe in a few years Logan would turn into an actual officiant for these two. Or it could just be a playground game that would mean nothing in a few years. "Of course I will."

Patton's heart was practically exploding watching Logan get involved in the chaos of recess, letting the children gather around him under the large oak tree near the sandpit. The wedding was coming up, but first the two grooms had asked Logan to write a poem to represent their day. The teen was sat with the bridesmaids making a poem with them.

"Alright, alright, brilliant! So, the poem goes – 'In a garden of friendship, they found their way. Thomas and Nico, together every day. With hearts that glow and smiles that shine, a love with no other... Oh, what word could rhyme with shine?"

One of the bridesmaids raised her hand as if in class, although she was a lot more interested in this poem that she was normally in the classroom. "Entwined! My mom used it yesterday, what does it mean Mr Croft?"

The little girl smiled more as Logan spoke to her gently. "That's a very smart word Emily, well done! It means that they're really close together." Logan cleared his throat as he prepared to read the poem again. Patton sat opposite Logan like one of the children he hypnotised. "In a garden of friendship, they found their way. Thomas and Nico, together every day. With hearts that glow and smiles that shine, a love like no other, forever entwined. That sounds amazing guys!"

"I'll get Thomas and Nico." The children ran towards the groom and groom, who were having their honeymoon on the swings. Neither teen had the heart to tell the children that the honeymoon usually happened after the wedding. With the free space Patton decided to sit next to Logan, knees touching as Logan closed his notebook.

One of the children stayed with the teens to interview them though. "Mr Baker, do you want to marry a boy?" This child was constantly asking questions about the wedding. At first, they didn't want to be in the wedding as 'boys could only marry girls', but once about a dozen other children told them that wasn't the case they treated the event like a new learning opportunity.

Patton gave the child a loving smile and explained pansexuality in the simplest way possible. "I don't care who I marry! I can marry a boy or a girl or someone who doesn't like being called a boy or a girl. As long as they have a big heart." The child nodded, taking things in as they picked through blades of grass.

The child raised their head and looked directly at Logan. "Do you want to marry a boy Mr Croft?" Red came to Logan's face immediately, especially when Patton gave him a soft faze and a hand on his knee. He knew there was no pressure to come out to a six-year-old, but he felt like he should. Fear entwined with him instead though and he settled with a very vague answer.

"I don't know who I want to marry yet kid. I have plenty of time to find out."

"You have a big heart! Maybe you can marry Mr Baker!" The gaggle of children came back from Thomas and Nico's honeymoon just as Logan announced he didn't know who to marry. And knowing this class of children they were going to find Logan someone to marry before recess ended. "Mr Baker will marry you! Do you want to marry each other?"

"Are Nico and Thomas ready for their wedding?" Patton could tell how uncomfortable Logan was getting with this conversation, so while Patton would love getting fake-married in front of his crush and some first graders he wanted Logan to have a happy moment too. His happy moment with Logan getting married might be in a decade or so.

Thomas and Nico didn't seem that bothered with distracting from their big day and ordered all the wedding guests to their places. Nico's two other best friends gave wedding speeches which Nico helped translate (and Logan... Logan did most of the translations for both sides), and the head chef shared chocolate raisins and apple slices from his lunchbox. Logan read out the poem that the bridesmaids had worked on together and Patton also gave an impromptu speech. Then came the vows.

"Do you, Thomas Sanders, take Nico Flores to be your husband?" Thomas nodded wildly and grabbed Nico's hands as they stood opposite each other. "Do you, Nico Flores, take Thomas Sanders to be your husband? ¿Quieres que Thomas Sanders sea tu marido?" Nico nodded just as wildly and squeezed Thomas' hands tightly. "OK! You can kiss the groom... Or do you guys still believe in cooties?"

Most children gave the expected response of fear of cooties, but it gave Nico enough time to quickly kiss Thomas on the cheek. He got a hug in return and the wedding ceremony was finished – or at least the class were out of ideas on how to make the wedding last longer. Until...

"Mr Croft? Do you take Mr Baker to be your husband?" A child tried, Patton was about to stop the situation for the sake of his friend, but Logan turned his head and scrunched his nose, giving a small smirk to reassure him he was fine with this.

"Yes, I do."

The gaggle of children looked so excited at that response and were screaming at each other about how there was now a double wedding and that their teachers are getting married 'for real because they're grown-ups'. "Mr Baker, do you take Mr Croft to be your husband?"

Patton looked over to Logan and tried to avoid blushing. But Logan looked perfectly relaxed, his arms crossed over his chest and his legs crossed. This was just a friendship thing for him. He probably thought there was no way he'd marry Patton.

But the teen kept on smiling, feeding these children's imaginations and keeping their childhood innocence. "I do."

So that was how Mr Croft and Mr Baker got married according to the first graders, but Patton and Logan knew they were just best friends. That still didn't stop the six-year-olds asking if the pair were going to have babies the next few days until another thing distracted them.
