Chapter 7- The Bus
When Abbie, Andy, and Ashley arrived to the tour bus the next morning, Abbie wasn’t sure what to expect, but she definitely didn’t think she’d be living in a giant bus that could hold over 20 people. Her jaw dropped to the car floor when they drove up to the parking lot.
“That’s our bus?” she asked. Ashley and Andy laughed.
“Yup!” Ashley exclaimed. They all got out of the car and ran onto the bus. CC, Jinxx, and Jake was already there.
“Jinxx!” Abbie exclaimed, running up and hugging him. They had grown closer throughout the time Abbie had been in L.A. He and Sammi were her best friends.
“Hey, Abbie!” he laughed. Andy went to go check out the room.
“How’s life been?” CC asked.
“Since I last saw you? Pretty much the same,” she laughed. Andy came back out to the front of the bus.
“Looks like we’re going to be sharing a living space again, kid,” he said, patting Abbie’s back.
“As long as we aren’t sharing a bed, I’m ok with that,” she replied. He rubbed her head and smiled.
“Great. Why don’t you come check it out while those dudes fight over bunks,” he said, leading her to the back of the bus where their room was. Andy opened the door and revealed a room with tan leather couches around it and a closet hidden by a door in the back.
“So… where are the beds?” Abbie asked, walking in and looking around.
“The couches turn into beds. You’ll see when it’s time to go to sleep,” Andy explained.
“Hey… Andy?” a small man with red hair similar to Danny’s asked, sticking his head in the room. Andy turned around.
“Yeah, Jon?” Abbie eyed Jon wearily, and Jon returned the stare.
“I… uh, was just making sure everything’s ok. Who’s this?” he asked.
“Jon, this is my daughter Abbie, the girl I told you I’d be taking with me. Abbie, this is the Tour Manager, Jon,” Andy introduced. Abbie waved to Jon, who nodded in return.
“But yeah, everything’s good,” Andy added, walking out of the room to reveal Jake, Ashley, and CC trying to shove themselves into the same bunk. Jinxx was already comfortable and reading a book in his.
“I give up!” Jake muttered, climbing into the bunk above it and knocking Ashley out in the process.
“Ha ha! CC is victorious!” CC exclaimed.
“What ever,” Ashley muttered, going into the bunk over Jinxx’s. Abbie giggled as she watched the scene.
“Try not to kill yourselves before Warped. Remember guys, we start right here in LA the day after tomorrow, so don’t party too hard,” Jon instructed.
“No worries. I’ll make sure they don’t die,” Andy reassured. Jon looked at Abbie and bent down to her height.
“That’ll be your job, sweetie,” he whispered to her with a smirk. She nodded.
“You can count on me,” she giggled.
“I don’t know. This little lady’s never partied before. I have a feeling she’s going to be pretty out of it,” Ashley winked, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. She glanced at him and Andy raised an eyebrow.
“What ever. Just be ready to play the day after. Remember it’s main stage,” Jon said, walking out of the bus. They all looked at each other and burst out laughing when he was gone.
“So, Ashley, are you planning on getting my daughter wasted?” Andy asked. Ashley smiled, shrugged, and walked out of the bus. Abbie followed him and Andy was behind her. When they got back to the apartment, they spent the rest of the day watching T.V. and talking about the upcoming summer. They all went to bed early to prepare themselves for the long day of partying they had ahead of them.
