Chapter 19- Ghost

The small, frightened girl ran right onto the bus and, practically slamming the door behind her, crashed onto the couch and laid there, face down. To add to her fear, the true inhabitants of the bus (well, only one of them since the others were out watching some of the other bands play) had heard the loud slam and went to go investigate. She heard the unfamiliar sounding footsteps and shot up onto her feet, only to see a smirking, scary-looking Chris Motionless looking at her.

“Abbie Biersack. It’s about time,” he said, looking the young girl up and down. His three lip piercings gleamed, smiling at her. Abbie bit her lip, her blue eyes painted with fear.

“Ch-Chris,” she stuttered. Her entire body started to shake. He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully and looked at her.

“Ok, I know I’m scary, but I’m not that scary,” he said, sitting down on the couch, “ and I know that you wouldn’t just break into a bus for any old reason. What’s wrong?” He motioned for her to sit next to him. She hesitated, then sat down across from him instead. He furrowed his brow, but when he realized she wasn’t going to get any closer, he accepted where she was sitting and waited. Abbie took a deep breath, contemplating how much she should tell him.

“I… I saw a guy…” she trailed off.

“A guy? I’m a guy, my drummer’s a guy, hell, most of the people on this bus are guys. I’m gonna need a little more information,” he said, lightening the mood a little. She took a deep breath.

“He’s a scary guy. I used to know him a while ago, but I thought he disappeared, and he’s back again,” Abbie said quickly, smushing all the words together. Chris nodded and took a second to think, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. Abbie looked out the window behind her and scanned as much of the venue as she could. The man seemed to be no where in sight, and even if he was still there he wouldn’t be able to go around where the tour buses are without being with one of the bands.

“I should probably get going,” Abbie said, standing up. Chris stood up to and bent down so he was at eye level. She stared into his deep, powerful black eyes and they stared back at hers.

“Listen, if anyone ever tries to bother you, just come to me and I’ll take care of them. I promise,” he said, his tone soft and sincere. Abbie nodded and did something she would have never expected she would have done as long as she lived- she hugged him. He seemed surprised at first, then accepted the hug and gently squeezed her back, comforting the frightened girl.

Just then, the door to the bus swung open and one of the other band members walked inside.

“Woah, Chris! Who’s your friend?” he asked. Abbie could hear the teasing smile in his voice. Chris shot up and rubbed the back of his neck. Abbie turned around and looked at the man. He looked like he had just stepped out of the pages of a history book. His raven hair stuck out, much like a wavey picture frame that framed his face stunningly, and a short beared that framed his chin, making him look sophisticated and elegant. And to say he was elegant would be an understatement. He had an odd manner about him and the sent he gave off wasn’t that of a normal human’s. It was mixed with something else, something she couldn’t quite put her finger on. He glanced between Chris and Abbie with an amused expression on his face.

“Ghost, this is Abbie, Andy’s kid,” Chris explained. “Abbie, this is Ghost, our bassist.” Ghost bent down and smiled at Abbie. Then, it hit her.

“Oh! You’re a G-” she started, but he put his finger to his lips and winked, shushing her. He nodded.

“If you keep my secret, I’ll keep your’s, Horse Girl,” he whispered, the smirk never leaving his face. She nodded. She was able to detect creatures from the Underworld such as demons and ghosts, but never from the spirit world, real world, or heaven. She wasn’t sure why that was, and it confused her slightly, but she didn’t complain. It gave her more warning of the extremely dangerous creatures that warned the universe, not to say that all other creatures are particularly good or all creatures from the underworld were evil, but she needed to look out for demons the most because, evil or not, they were the only ones that could kill her, in a sense, by capturing her soul and keeping it away from her body. She gave Ghost a quick nod and hurried out. She raced to Black Veil Bride’s tour bus, her heart racing as fast as her long legs could carry her. She skidded to a stop once she got to the bus and took a second to catch her breath. After a few minutes, she walked onto the bus, uncontrollable fear still in her eyes, but she managed to compose the rest of herself for the moment. Even though Chris’s words had been comforting, they didn’t do much to completely diminish her fears. Everyone was in the main room, even Andy. She smiled and greeted them, and when she was offered to sit down with them, politely said she was too tired and wanted to rest. Everyone but Sammi seemed to buy her excuse, but she didn’t say anything as Abbie walked through the bunk area and into her and Andy’s room. She sat on her bed and thought about how aweful her first two times with the man were. She shuddered as she imagined what horrors he’d do to her for escaping for a second time, and she had a feeling that if she was caught, there wouldn’t be a third escape. Abbie was so afraid she screamed when there was a knock on the door.
