Chapter 33- Tragically Horrific
Abbie jerked her head up to the sound of yet another Black Veil Brides song. She hadn’t been able to sleep at all in the past few weeks she’d been there, and she didn’t want to. She heard the door open and looked towards it. The lights flickered on, temporarily blinding her. It was the same man as before, just like every day. She decided to call him Brad, since she knew he wasn’t going to introduce himself. Abbie looked straight ahead at the poster of the guys and sighed.
“Where are you?” she whispered. They all looked so happy in the poster, but at the same time like their smiles were fake. Abbie could’ve sworn she saw pain in all of their eyes, especially in Andy’s. She closed her eyes and turned her head away.
“Have a good sleep? No? Good,” Brad smirked, walking towards her. He grabbed her shoulders so hard she thought they would break and whipped her around so she was facing the wall and her feet just missed the ground, putting all of her weight on her shoulders. She screamed when she saw the wall so close to her face. It was a picture of Andy that looked exactly like he had the first time she woke up in the same bed as him in the Black Army. She felt tears fill her eyes. “Aww, what’s the matter? Do you miss him? Too bad he’s not going to save you. Do you actually think he cares about you? He only took you under his wing because he felt bad for you, like a weak little puppy. He’s glad you aren’t with them. All of them are.” Abbie looked straight into the picture’s eyes. Brad sang along with the song that was playing, “Fallen Angels,” mocking the band. Abbie felt a sharp pain slice across her back and heard the crack of a whip. She cried out as it sliced through her skin again and again. She closed her eyes and grit her teeth together, trying to ignore the pain. It wasn’t the pain that was the problem, though. It was the sound. It was to the time of the music. She found closing her eyes only made her notice it and the music more.
“What’s the matter? Did you need the skin on your back? Because I think you look really emo without it,” he mocked. Abbie’s entire body quivered and sweat drenched her hair. He turned her back around so her feet could touch the ground and released her arms. She collapsed to the ground in a heap, curling into a ball. She closed her eyes and ran her hands through her hair, screaming. Her back glowed and healed all her wounds. She took deep, heavy breaths and looked up at Brad, who was smiling down at her.
“You know, you never did tell me why you’re hair’s so long. I could’ve sworn they chopped it all off before you even got to one of the camps,” he said thoughtfully, picking up a knife and looking at it. Abbie stared at him, still unable to move. He kicked her so she layed flat on her stomach and strattled her, a knee on either side of her skinny body. She hadn’t eaten since she first got there, and though she can go long times without eating, it was taking a toll on her health and body fat. She was nothing but bones, and definitely weighed less than she ever had before. She’d also lost a considerably large amount of strength, and it surprised her that Brad’s weight didn’t snap her back. He pulled her head back by the hair and cut through her scalp. She closed her eyes and whimpered at the pain, unable to do anything else. He tossed the hair and skin aside and smiled, waiting. Her head glowed and the skin healed over within a few minutes. He wasted no time picking of the girl and slamming her onto the metal table. She winced as her body made contact with the hard metal. He tied her arms and legs down and moved in close to her face.
“What ever happened to ‘I’ll never let you down,’ hmm? Looks like he didn’t stick with his word, did he?” he asked, picking up a hammer and inspecting it. “Kind of hard to keep you up with broken legs, isn’t it?” Abbie’s eyes widened and she watched as he hit her shins with the force of what felt like an elephant over and over again. A loud snap could be heard, and red hot pain flooded through both of Abbie’s legs, causing a scream to make its way out of her mouth. He smiled again and traced the outline of her ribs with his finger. He took the hammer and slammed it down on her ribs, breaking them on contact. Abbie closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
“Ready to tell us?” he asked.
“Never,” she said, her ribs healing almost as quickly as they had been broken.
“You know, I’m surprised you’ve been able to last this long. That wolf boy, what was his name, Jess? Yeah, that’s it. He didn’t last this long. He just gave up. It’s kind of tragic, actually. You’re the only one left.” He was lying. Even weaker than she’d ever been, she could tell instantly. “And Black Veil Brides? They’re not coming for you. They’re leaving for tour tonight. You honestly think they’ll go out and try to find you when each date is sold out? Keep dreaming,” he laughed. He wasn’t lying. Abbie could tell almost as quickly as before. She looked down and sighed. He smirked.
“Might as well do something to tribute them, then. After all, if it wasn’t for them we probably wouldn’t have found you,” he mused, looking over the table. “Oh, I know. He used to paint a Chelsea’s smile onto his face, how about we do that?” He grinned, picking up a small knife. He walked over to her and lifted her head up, placing the knife in the corner of her mouth. “They always call him Batman, right? That’s funny, because I feel like the Joker.” Abbie closed her eyes and squeaked as the sharp metal ripped through her tender flesh. Her body shook violently as tears of pain uncontrollably rolled down her mutilated cheeks. He moved to the other side, making it symmetrical. He stepped back and examined his work. He smiled at her and kissed the top of her head mockingly. He walked back over to the table and slowly wiped her blood off the knife, then placed it back on the table.
“Hope you have another fun night in hell!” he exclaimed as he walked out of the room cheerily, flicking off the lights and turning off the music.
