Whispers at the Ziggurat

The Briarwoods, and the possessed Ren, Vax, and Cassandra were reaching the peak of the Ziggurat where a large gate stands.

Delilah holds a pocket watch as she looks at the alignment.

Delilah: Soon... *Closes the pocket watch* The celestial alignment is almost complete.

Sylas walks up to the pillars that are in front of the gate and begins to push them to their position before they descend into the temple.

Delilah: It begins...

Delilah steps forward as Sylas stands back next to the possessed Ren, Vax, and Cassandra.

Delilah starts chanting a spell. As she cast dark magic on the ground, this causes a green glow to form around the Ziggurat.

The group arrives at the Ziggurat base and were about to confront the Briarwoods, but Scanlan notices something.

Scanlan: Wait...

Scanlan stops causing everyone to look at him confused.

Grog: Uh, Scanlan?

Scanlan continues to stare at the Ziggurat before realizing...

The Book. The Star Chart. The Ziggurat. Scanlan finally understands it all.

Scanlan: It wasn't a spellbook. It was an instruction manual. The drawings, the symbols, it all had to do with that name... The uh- What was it? *Remembers* The Whispered One!

Pike: *Surprised* The Whispered One?

Vex: You've heard that name?

Pike: Once. Fr-From the Elder of the Everlight. They say he's some sort of undead creature, who seeks the power to return to our plane.

Scanlan: I get the books, the maps, but what about the star chart?

Keyleth: It's the solstice. When the barrier between the planes is the thinnest.

Scanlan: *Sarcastic* Oh, yeah, yeah, the planes. What does that mean?

Keyleth: If this Whisper One wants to cross over, now is the time to do it.

Pike: And the Briarwoods must be trying to help him.

Vex: I don't give a shit what they're doing. I just want my brother back.

[With the Briarwoods]

Delilah finishes chanting the spell and Sylas approaches her.

Delilah: *Turns to Sylas* The Whispered One is coming. Once he returns, you and I will be together forever. Let anyone who would stop us... Shatter, on what we have built.

Delilah and Sylas kiss.

Vox Machina continues to look up from the base of the temple. 

Vex looks up at Vax.

Vex: *Sighs* Vax...

Grog: Okay, I'll take Vax. *Cracks his neck* Piece of cake.

Vex: *Turns to Grog* Grog, I want him alive.

Grog: Oh, uh... I'll face Ren.

Keyleth: No. He was able to break Sylas's charm a little bit. Maybe I can get through to him.

Grog: Well... then I got Cassandra.

Percy: No! She will answer to me.

Grog: Awww. *Crouches down upset* I never get to play.
