The Great Vault

A flashback in a bedroom, a young Ren and Mal sitting on the bed. Mal holds a book and reads it to her adopted son.

Mal: Millennia ago, many fallen stars fell into the realm's ocean. There a mighty warrior came to the island and mined the ore. Finding Starsteel. Forging it into armor and weapons. The warrior hunted many monsters until he had a vision from Pald'alor the Great and encountered the mythical Blackhorn Wyvern. The warrior and wyvern slain a red dragon and he became the Duke of Paldalore. The duke then built his kingdom with many new warriors. Leading with a special blade.

Mal then closes the book showing the Blackhorn crest.

Ren: Mentor. Could I someday see the Blackhorn Wyvern?

Mal: Maybe someday. When you're ready, *Brush her hand on Ren's helmet* Starash.

[End of Flashback]

Vox Machina and Jonah wait for Ren to wake up as Vex, Vax, and Percy look toward the waters after hearing Keyleth see something alive in the waters. While Keyleth and Jonah continue checking on Ren.

Suddenly, Ren starts coughing for air. He starts looking around to see that he is out of the water. Vex, Vax, and Percy heard the coughs as they turned to see Ren sit up with Keyleth and Jonah's help and start to breathe properly.

Ren: *Smiles under his helmet* I am redeemed.

Jonah: Yeah, we witnessed it. You bathed in the Black Waters. You are Paldalorian again.

Vex: Now can we please go?

Ren then stands up and takes out a vile. He then fills the vile with the water. Ren then turns back to his party and re-equips his cape and weapons. 

Keyleth slowly approaches Ren with concern.

Keyleth: Can I ask you something, Ren?

Ren: *Sheath his sword* What is it?

Keyleth: Did you see anything down there?

Ren: I saw the chasm passing me as I fell.

Vax: I didn't know the water is that deep.

Ren: They're not.

Percy: The Conclave's attack must have triggered some sort of seismic activity.

Keyleth: But did you see anything... Alive?

Ren: Alive? I don't know. Come on, we need to go back to the vault.

The group begins to return to the vault. Keyleth looks back at the Black Waters remembering what she saw after saving Ren.

As they walk through the tunnels, Jonah goes up to Ren.

Jonah: You know Keyleth saved you.

Ren: I am aware. And I'm indebted to her.

Jonah: If I were you, I would offer her a kiss as her reward. But I'm guessing that helmet is no longer coming off.

Ren: This is the Way

Jonah: This is the Way.

Ren crosses his arms in the shape of an X and Jonah crosses his empty arm while holding his helmet. But they both tap their armor at the same time.

[At the Vault Entrance]

Clan Vizsla continues to wait for Vox Machina and the heir of the clan to return with Ren redeemed.

Hira then sees a light coming out of the tunnel and sees the group returning. She rushes toward Jonah and brings him into a hug. He then hugs his betrothed back.
