In a magical realm called Exandria is a group of mercenaries called Vox Machina. They're misfits turned mercenaries for hire taking jobs in Tal'Dorei. However, they're not the greatest mercenaries or the top hundred. But despite all that, they're no...
In a forest continent, there is a kingdom with many warriors that wear a special armor made of a special metal. These warriors are known as Paldalorians.
Their kingdom is named Paldalore. Therefore, they honor their warriors by the name of Paldalorians.
The story of Paldalore begins with the first Paldalorian by the name of Gar Khan: A paladin gifted with magic, crafting, and knowledge of many kinds of monsters. Gar Khan crafted many weapons and armor, and one day, he sighted many stars falling from the night sky. One he saw close to a forest. There he rushed to the fallen star and discovered that it was strong. There he forges that rock in a new armor, one that can't be damaged so easily. Not by acid, not by magic, not even the powers of dragons could damage it. Gar Khan then went out to slay a dragon, but along the way of his journey, he met a wyvern whom he saved from young dragons. The wyvern was indebted to Gar Khan and together, they slayed a dragon and devoured its corpse. Many people heard of his tale and few warriors wished to learn his way. So he taught them his way to form a Creed and soon built a kingdom on an island off the coast of Tal'Dorei along the way. Many questioned why he refused to remove his helmet, but they accepted his way and followed his example. And that's how Paldalore was born.
Paldalorian families are formed between clans that are formed by grand warriors who have earned a signet that bears the symbol of a monster that has damaged their armor. When the signet is found, they will live their lives traveling to build their own clan.
Paldalorians started as children, either born of Paldalore or founded as orphans taken in from the Creed. They live wearing their armor for the rest of their lives never to take it off. Not even to remove their helmets to show their faces to other people. Even as children, they are not permitted to remove their helmets.
But the visors of their helmets only lift under their noses to show their mouths so they can eat or drink without taking their helmets off.
A few centuries ago, Paldalorians were allied with all four of the Ashari tribes. They even fought together once. But something happened and it made both tribes distrustful of one another. Nobody knows how or why, but there might be a way for them to get along again. Maybe join hands with each other.
