***CARTER'S POV***

Mikey walked me home. When we got there, he exppained to my parents why I got home so late.

"YOU KIDS DID THIS BY YOURSELVES!?!?" My Dad yelled at us.

Mom tried calming him down. It failed. "WHO'S THIS KID?!?!?"

"Scott McKinley." Mikey answered.

"THE DEPUDY'S KID!?!? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!?!?"

"I guess I just panicked. I'm sorry, Mr. Goulding."

Dad sighed and burried his face in his hands.

Then, he spoke again. "Why did you wait three hours?"

"I don't know. I guess-"

My Mom interupted. "At least he got her before anything else happened."

I felt sick to my stomack.

"I'm going to bed."

I got up and walked across the living room.

"I should probably get home, too." I stopped.

"It's 2:30 in the morning. You sure?" Dad asked Mikey.

Mikey looked at me. "My mom's probably worrying."

"I can call her and tell her you'll stay the night here?" Mom suggested.

"It's alright. I-"

"Mikey, it's late. You're staying. Period." I said, catching everyone off guard.

"Alrighty, then," Mom said. "Where is he sleeping?"

"With me." I suggested.

"I snore."

"And?"

"I can sleep on the couch."

"You're not sleeping on that."

Mom and Dad started laughing. "What?"

"You sound like a married couple!" Mom said, cracking up.

I gave Mikey a look. "Oh, God."

Mikey laughed. "It's not that bad."

Dad cut in. "Yes it is."

"Thanks, Dad."

"Anytime, troop." He answered, note the sarcasm.

I walked to my room, Mikey following close behind.

"You can borrow one of Dad's shirts if you want.." I told Mikey.

"I'm alright. Thanks." He said, with the same smirk he always gives me right before he does something meddling. But I ignored it.

I turned around and looked for my pajamas in my draws. When I finished, I turned around to get fuzzy socks, but got massively distracted by Mikey. He was shirtless. I tried not staring, but I couldn't help myself. He had amazing abs.

He laughed. "What are you staring at?"

I froze, thinking about a really good, believable, excuse.

"Um..." He moved closer. I bit my bottom lip. He was only centimeters away.

"Nervous?"

I shook my head. Good one, Carter! -_-

He cupped my face and leaned his forehead on mine. I couldn't breathe. He's killing me.

"Don't worry. I won't hurt you." He said. He leaned in closer. I didn't wait for him. I closed up the space between us. Butterflies came flooding in.

We stopped as soon as we heard my parents' footsteps walking up the stairs.

I whispered, "I think we should go to bed."

"Yeah."

I climed into bed. Mikey layed down next to me, putting an arm around me.

We fell asleep, and I felt safe.

Mikey's such a liar, too! The kid doesn't snore at all!!
