"Thanks for saving me from that... thing."Pearl finally said after a bit of quiet.

Gem who was looking at the woods turned to face Pearl.

"It's nothing really-"
Something started growling in the forest.
"I don't think we should be talking here... they might come back."
Gem said and immediately she took her bow.

Pearl didn't know what she was talking about... who were they?

"I can't leave until I find my brother... he's somewhere in this forest."

"He might be dead already if they found him... and you might be dead too if you go there."

Pearl looked at her saviour.

"Why should I try a stranger?"

At first Gem didn't reply.

"I.. There's nothing I can do to make you trust me but... I give you an advice.

It's better to not be in the dark at night."

"Why? And if it isn't why are you here?"

"It's not your business."Gem said coldly.

That was right... They were just strangers who accidentally crossed eachother path. They didn't know each other for more than 30 minutes.
But...Pearl couldn't shook the weird feeling.

Something cracked behind Pearl.

"Watch out!" Gem yelled pushing her back and shooting an arrow at whatever was there.

'she saved me.. again...' Pearl felt slightly guilty for being mad at Gem...

"Thank you... again..." She said quietly not looking directly at Gem.

'Pearl?' She looked around.
'Giba?! Where are you?'

Nothing.
She sighed.

She and her twin always had a weird connection...or power? They basically could talk in mind with each other but not all the time.

"Uh.. Pearl?"
She looked at Gem.

"Yes?"

Gem sighed
"I'm gonna regret this but... Can I-..I want to help you find your brother."

To be honest Pearl was quite shocked by this sudden change in Gem's behaviour .

"What? But you just said -"

"I know....but ... there's something about you that bothers me."

Pearl was quiet for a bit before she spoke.
"I still don't trust you... but I'll be glad to have a little help."

Gem smiled weakly.

Something was going on there and Pearl had no idea what... Maybe when the right time came she'll find out.

"You sure we don't need to look for them?"

"Don't worry Joel... Gem is patrolling this part today, they are safe."

Joel who was looking through the window sighed.
"Eh. ..If you say so..."

"So-"

"So what?"Gem glanced at her new companion.

"I want to know you a bit more."

"Didn't you  say like a minute ago you don't trust me ."

"Yes... but we can always get to know each other by talking."

"I don't understand you."
Gem said under her breath but loud enough for Pearl to hear.

They walked in silence.

"Maybe I'll start?"

"If you want to miss' I don't trust you'"

Pearl stopped.
"Listen I'm sorry I said that to you after you had saved my life-"

"Twice "

"Twice... I'm just worried.. my younger brother went missing not that long ago and now my twin ran away and it's too much..."

Gem hugged her...it was something rather unexpected.
"Sorry... " She stepped away and looked at the night sky.
"I know that feeling of losing someone important to you..."she said quietly with sadness.
A single tear fell for her eye but she quickly wiped it away.

"We should get going...the town is not that far away."Gem quickly changed the topic.

Pearl didn't ask... It wouldn't help, she quietly followed Gem.
'when did they decide to go to the town?'
She was too tired for this...

Grian opened his eyes. Bright light woked him up.
He remembered yelling at Joel, running through the forest and then black...he probably passed out of the tiredness.
To his surprise, he didn't find himself laying on the cold dirt but on something soft quite similar to his sponge bed back in home.

Grian got up and looked around.
He found himself in small cosy room, a little bit different style to the one Joel and Etho had.

A few shelves and bookshelves filled with stuff and crystals?
Grian never saw anything like that.
He didn't have many crystals back home only the rare dead coral ones and pearls.

The room was quite nice but Grian still had no idea who bring him here and why.

"Meow"
Something moved on the bed.
A fluffy creature.
It was gray and had a dark green eyes.

Grian never saw something like that before.

"Jellie?"Someone called from other rooms.

'oh no,no,no...'

Grian panicked. He tried to find a way to escape the stage place but he ran out of time as the door he didn't notice before started to open.

And a brown haired man walked in.
