Chapter 23

                       "Burning Affection"

It's almost 6 o'clock in the evening. The two were on their way home from town, they hurried to get back to the resort because the sky suddenly turned shady.

They left the resort around five o'clock, so it looks like they will return home late at night.

While they were checking the papers earlier, Akari mentioned that the air conditioner in her bedroom was broken, she didn't expect Zyleith to take it seriously to stop what they were doing.

They immediately left Zyleith's room, since she prefers to do their things related to work in her room, but just temporary.

Zyleith insisted on accompanying Akari to town to buy a new air conditioner and she said she would go to grocery store also, and Akari can do nothing about it.

"It looks like it's going to rain, I hope we can get home before the rain falls, 'cause the road will be slippery and it's dangerous" Zyleith said worriedly.

"I hope so, it looks like it's going to rain heavily in-AAA!" Akari screamed in when suddenly thunder and lightning flashed loudly.

"What the--so loud Ms. Sekiguchi, don't tell me you're afraid of thunder and lightning" Zyleith said in disbelief.

While Akari is just holding her ears, she looks like a scared little girl.

The thunder and lightning continued until heavy rain poured, so Zyleith stopped the car to the side of the road.

"Damn! the heavy rain is falling! how--hey are you okay? I can't believe that you are really afraid of thunder and lightning" Zyleith hit the steering wheel in annoyance but immediately her annoyance disappeared when she noticed that Akari didn't talk.

"It has stopped, don't be afraid" She added as she pats the woman's head.

"I-I'm s-sorry, I just g-got carried away" Akari said as she looked at her with a puppy scared eye.

"Aw~ you're so cute" Zyleith's thoughts.

"You're such a baby, don't be fraid okay? I'm here" She said with a spare smile then playfully messed the woman's hair.

"I'm not a baby! you're teasing me again, aren't you? is that your hobby?" Akari complained while glaring at her.

"Stop whining and glaring at me like that, let's go" She said as she chuckled.

Before they had gone far from where they stopped, a tire of the car went flat.

"Damn! fortunately, I was able to brake immediately!" Zyleith exclaimed in annoyance.

"What happened?" Akari asked worriedly.

"It looks like some sharp object punctured the tire, just stay here I'll fix it" She said and got out of the car despite the heavy rain.

"Hey why did you got out?! it's raining heavily! you might get sick" Akari shouted while peeking through the car window.

"I'm fine! the front tire is flat and there's a big hole in it so I need to replace it, I got this! I need to fix this! it's getting dark" Zyleith said and it was already soaking wet from rain.

Fortunately, there was an extra tire in the trunk of the car and She immediately took it as well as the tools.

"I don't want to just sit here, let me help you" Akari also got out of the car.

"Why did you got out?! I told you just stay inside right?! stubborn!" Zyleith shouted as Akari kneeled down to help her remove the tire.

"This is not easy, so just let me help you okay?! I just want to help you so we can go home immediately" Akari said and Zyleith just sighed. There was nothing she could do since Akari is already soaking wet from rain.
