Zyleith's POV

                              "Coincidence?"

It was almost lunchtime when I returned to my room from the meeting room next to the reception area.

Earlier, I gathered all the staff and explained my plans for the restaurant I would soon build inside the resort. As expected, they were all happy and excited—just as I was. Seeing their enthusiasm made me even more motivated.

I still had a lot to do, but for now, I needed a short break to recharge. What I had planned next was definitely going to be exhausting.

After resting for about half an hour, I headed straight to the boat harbor. I only brought two things with me—my camera and my cellphone.

As usual, the camera was for capturing the breathtaking scenery, and the cellphone was for emergencies.

"Mister, aren’t we leaving yet?" I asked impatiently.

"I’m sorry, Ma’am Solenn, but could we wait for five more minutes?" the boatman replied, making me frown.

"Why? Are we waiting for someone? I rented this boat, didn’t I?" I asked, irritated. The heat was unbearable, and I was in a hurry.

"Uh… Ma’am, actually, there was a guest who reserved this boat first. I’m really sorry for not telling you right away," he said, looking embarrassed.

"So why did you agree to let me board?" I asked, raising a brow.

"Since you were the only one waiting, and both of you were headed to the same island, I thought it wouldn’t be a problem. I truly apologize, Ma’am Solenn," he explained sincerely.

I sighed. "Fine. Since you explained, it’s okay. Just make sure to be upfront about these things next time."

"Thank you for understanding, Ma’am," he said gratefully.

I checked my watch, growing impatient. Where on earth is this person? Why are they taking so long?

"Oh! Ma’am! I’m glad you’re here!" the boatman suddenly exclaimed in relief.

I turned to see who he was talking to—and froze.

What the—?! That woman again?!

I quickly looked away.

She was wearing another white dress, this time with delicate floral designs.

Gorgeous.

"I’m sorry for making you wait," she said softly. "I had something important to finish, so I took a bit longer… s-sorry." She bowed her head slightly, looking apologetic.

The boatman helped her onto the boat while I stole a quick glance at her.

She seemed surprised to see me here. I immediately looked away again.

She took the seat next to mine. Damn… this is awkward.

Her scent lingered in the air, light yet captivating. I didn’t know why, but I liked it. Even her hair smelled good.

Neither of us spoke. We both just scrolled through our phones—well, at least I pretended to scroll.

Is this still just a coincidence? It’s not like I hated seeing her, but something about it felt… strange.

The wind blew stronger, sending her long, curly hair flying against my face.

"Ah! I-I’m sorry," she said quickly, gathering her hair with her hands.

Her delicate nape was exposed.

I gulped.

What the hell is happening to me?!

I stole another glance.

She looked embarrassed. My annoyance from earlier vanished in an instant.

After more than twenty minutes, we finally reached the island. We exchanged an awkward look before going our separate ways.

The dock was crowded, filled with boats likely carrying tourists.

I wandered around, stopping whenever I saw the perfect view to capture.

It had only been a few minutes, yet I was already sweating. Damn, the weather is so hot.

There were a few small huts scattered around, serving as homes for the island’s residents.

As I focused on taking pictures, a few locals recognized me.

"Solenn! It’s been a while! Why haven’t you visited us sooner?" they asked.

"I’ve just been really busy," I replied with a small smile.

They hadn’t changed—still chatty, still warm. I liked them a lot.

After a short but lively conversation, I bid them goodbye and continued exploring.

Somehow, I found myself wandering into the woods.

I wasn’t sure why I even came here, but it wasn’t a bad idea. There were plenty of beautiful sights to capture.

But damn, I was exhausted. And thirsty. And starving.

Why didn’t I think of bringing even just a biscuit?

I checked my watch—almost 3 PM.

My shirt was drenched in sweat. Sighing, I took off my long-sleeved outerwear, revealing the simple t-shirt I had underneath.

I found a shaded spot under a tree and sat down to rest.

Sleepiness crept in.

Eventually, I gave in and dozed off.
