There was a commotion both inside and outside the dressing room, and the chaos only intensified when a furious woman in her fifties stormed in.
"Why the hell did you all take so long?! Everything is ready, the guests are waiting—where's the bride?!" she demanded, her voice sharp with anger.
"Ma'am, t-there was a problem—" the makeup artist stammered, trying to explain.
"What problem?! Where is she?!" the woman snapped, pushing her way toward the dressing room.
"M-Ma'am, wait! She's—" One of the staff tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen.
"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?! WHERE DID SHE GO?!" Her furious voice echoed through the room.
"W-We don't know, ma'am. She said she was just going to the restroom a while ago…" one of the staff members explained nervously.
"WHAT?! AND YOU JUST LET HER GO?! I HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS! ALL OF YOU—WE'LL TALK LATER, YOU IDIOTS!" The woman spat before storming out in a hurry.
Meanwhile, in the parking lot, a tall, handsome man hesitated as he held the wrist of a stunning woman dressed in a wedding gown.
"Wait! Are you really sure about this?" he asked worriedly.
"I've already made up my mind. My decision is final, and nothing will change it," she said firmly.
Seeing her resolve, the man sighed. "If I really can't stop you, then… just be careful. Take care of yourself." He pulled her into a tight hug.
"You too, okay? Thank you so much, Oniichan (Big Brother). I'll miss you," she said sadly as they pulled apart.
He gently patted her head. "I'll miss you too, Imouto (Younger Sister). Now go."
With one final glance, she stepped into the car, and moments later, it sped out of the parking lot.
As they drove, her personal driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror. "Ma'am, your phone is ringing. Won't you answer it? It might be an emergency."
After hesitating for a moment, she finally picked up the call.
"FINALLY, YOU ANSWERED! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! WHERE ARE YOU?! COME BACK NOW!" A furious voice shrieked on the other end.
"I'm sorry, but I won't come back. My decision is final, and no one can change it," she replied firmly.
"NO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO US—TO ME! IT'S STILL NOT TOO LATE! PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF OUR FAMILY AND THE COMPANY, DON’T DO THIS!" The woman begged, though her voice still held traces of anger.
"No matter what you say, my decision won't change. I've already made up my mind," she said coldly.
"FINE! BUT IF YOU GO THROUGH WITH THIS STUPID PLAN, I WILL CUT YOU OFF COMPLETELY! YOU WILL NO LONGER BE MY DAUGHTER!" The woman’s voice dripped with manipulation, hoping to guilt-trip her.
"Mother and daughter?" she scoffed, her voice laced with sarcasm. "You never treated me like your daughter, anyway. But never mind… it doesn't matter now. I have to go." Her voice wavered slightly, but she refused to let herself cry.
"WHAT?! W-WAIT! I'M SERIOUS! IF YOU LEAVE NOW, YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME OR YOUR BROTHER AGAIN!" The woman’s desperate threat cut through the air, but it no longer held any power over her.
"Are you done?" she asked, unimpressed. "I'm sorry, but I really need to go. Goodbye, Okāsan (Mother)."
Without waiting for another word, she ended the call, not bothering to hear her mother’s final outburst.
