Akari’s POV

          "Dinner with a Moody Woman"

I woke up still feeling a little off. The lights were on, which confused me, so I checked the time—holy cow! It was already six in the evening.

I had slept for a few hours, and honestly, I felt a little guilty about it. Solenn must have been waiting for me. Speaking of her, I didn’t hear her voice when I woke up, nor did I see her anywhere in my room.

Curious, I got up and stepped out into the living room.

As I expected, she was there—sleeping soundly on the couch with a book resting on her face. So cute.

I knelt down beside her and carefully removed the book. For a moment, I simply stared. Wow.

She's breathtaking. No matter how many times I looked at her, I couldn’t deny her beauty.

Her height, her strong yet graceful build, her brown hair styled in a chic lob wolf cut, her deep brown eyes, thick eyebrows, and long lashes—everything about her was captivating. Her pointed nose, heart-shaped lips, and the tiny mole beneath her right eye added to her charm.

She had that rare mix of Asian and European features—an ethereal beauty.

I was still admiring her when she stirred. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open, and my own widened in surprise.

We locked eyes for a few seconds before I quickly looked away and got up.

"Why did you get up? Do you feel better?" she asked, her voice husky from sleep.

"Not as bad as earlier. Thank you for taking care of me and for staying," I said as I faced her.

"Glad to hear that. And don’t mention it. A simple 'thank you' is enough," she replied with a faint smile.

Wait. How many times has she smiled at me today?

As far as I knew, smiling wasn’t in her vocabulary.

"Are you sure you’re okay? What’s with the sudden zoning out?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. Then, she leaned closer.

A strange nervousness struck me out of nowhere.

"H-huh? Uhm—I'm fine! I-it’s just hot in here! Right! Uhm—why did you sleep here anyway?" I stammered awkwardly, unable to meet her gaze.

Why am I so nervous?!

Solenn smirked. "Why? Do you not want me to sleep here? Or..." she leaned in further, her voice dropping to a teasing whisper, "do you just want me to sleep next to you? If that’s the case, you should’ve told me sooner."

Holy cow! That’s not what I meant!

"W-what?! I-I don’t understand! What do you mean?" I stuttered, stepping backward.

She smirked again. "Why? Did what I said mean something else? What exactly are you thinking, Ms. Sekiguchi?"

I took another step back, but suddenly, my back hit the wall. Oh no.

She placed a hand beside my head, effectively pinning me in place. "What’s wrong? Why are you so tense?" she asked, her voice laced with amusement.

"W-what are you doing?! Let go of me! Stop teasing me, Solenn!" I said, flustered beyond belief. Oddly enough, I wasn’t even annoyed.

"Teasing? Me? I was just checking if you were feeling better," she said innocently. "Why are you so nervous? Unless... you were thinking of something else?"

There it was again—that damn smirk of hers. Such a tease.

"Is that how you check on people?" I huffed, glaring at her.
