Zyleith’s POV
"Personal Assistant"
It's almost 1 PM, I'm still glued to my computer, drowning in work.
My stomach grumbled, and fatigue weighed down on me. Sighing, I threw myself onto the bed.
This is exhausting.
I needed help. Maybe I should hire a personal assistant? Someone hardworking and reliable. But where should I start?
I’ll think about it later. I have other plans for today.
Shaking off my thoughts, I got up and headed to the bathroom.
After a refreshing shower, I dressed formally, grabbed my phone and car keys, and stepped out.
Halfway down the stairs, I suddenly thought of Meg. Is she in her room?
Without a second thought, I turned back and walked toward her door.
*Knock* *Knock*
"Meg? Are you there?" I called.
A few seconds later, the door swung open, revealing the gorgeous woman.
I gulped. My eyes widened as I took in her appearance—her hair tied in a high bun, an oversized lavender t-shirt draped over her frame, and tight cycling shorts hugging her toned legs, exposing her flawless, milky-white thighs.
Damn.
"Solenn? Hey! I'm talking to you!" Meg’s voice snapped me out of my daze.
I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to scroll through my phone. "Oh—uh, sorry. Are you busy?"
"Not really. Why?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Would you mind coming with me somewhere?"
She blinked in surprise. "Hm? Okay… where are we going?"
I grinned. Yes!
"I'm visiting the house and the farm. It's been a while since I last went there."
Meg was the first person I’d ever invited there. For some reason, it felt right.
"Sounds good! Let me get dressed first," she said before dashing back into her room.
I chuckled. Cutie.
Then, I felt it. My cheeks heating up, my heart pounding faster.
This always happened when she's around.
Do I like her?
I shook my head. No, that can't be. Maybe it’s just normal?
But even if I do… that wouldn’t be so bad, right?
Oh, my flirty heart.
Once Meg was ready, we headed to the parking lot.
I walked over and opened the car door for her.
"Thank you," she said with a small smile before settling into the passenger seat.
I got in and started the car, my hands gripping the wheel a little tighter than usual.
Why do I keep acting like this around her?
As I drove, I stole a glance at her. She gazed out the window, eyes wide with amusement as she watched the passing scenery.
The silence between us was deafening.
I decided to break it.
"Have you eaten? It'll take us about two more hours to get there," I said.
Meg turned to me, curiosity flashing in her eyes. "Where are we going, anyway?"
"You’ll find out later."
I caught her reflection in the mirror as she snorted. It made me smile.
"By the way, congrats on buying the land for your business. I’m really happy for you," I said sincerely.
"Thank you," she beamed. "If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to buy it yet. You’ve helped me so much."
Her bright smile made my heart do a little flip. Her pupils always dilated when she's happy. So beautiful.
"Oh, don’t mention it," I replied softly.
Suddenly, Meg gasped. "I just remembered! I still haven’t repaid you for everything you’ve done for me!"
Ah. The unfinished deal from the coffee shop.
"Do we have the same thing in mind?" I asked, glancing at her.
"I think so? We were supposed to settle it before, right?"
I smirked. "You said you'd do anything I wanted, right?"
Meg nodded. "Yeah. So? What do you want?"
Perfect timing. Since I needed a personal assistant anyway…
"Well, while your business is still being set up, why don’t you work for me?" I asked casually.
She raised an eyebrow. "As in…?"
"As my personal assistant."
Her eyes widened. "Wait—what?! Me? Are you serious?"
"Of course!" I laughed. "And don’t worry, I won’t make it hard for you. Just do your job well and stay by my side—because that’s what a personal assistant does, right?"
Meg hesitated.
I added quickly, "And don’t worry about the salary."
She finally nodded. "Alright, I’ll accept. Besides, you've done a lot for me. This is a good way to make it up to you."
I didn’t know why, but hearing her say yes made me really happy.
"Glad to hear that. Thank you, Ms. Sekiguchi," I said, grinning.
Meg rolled her eyes playfully.
"Anyway, let’s grab something to eat first," I said, pulling into a nearby restaurant.
We ordered two boxes of pizza, milk tea for her, a smoothie for me, and two servings of pork pastil.
Once back in the car, I grabbed a slice of pizza while driving, glancing at Meg.
She was eating like a little kid—cheeks puffed out, eyes focused on her food.
I chuckled. "Eat slowly."
She immediately covered her mouth, embarrassed. But I’d already seen it.
After finishing our meal, I told her to rest. "Sleep for a while. I’ll wake you when we arrive."
To my surprise, she actually did.
Sleeping beauty.
By the time we neared our destination, it was almost 3 PM.
I could already feel the excitement bubbling inside me.
Going back there felt different this time—probably because, for the first time, I wasn’t going alone.
I glanced at the sleeping woman beside me.
A sleeping koala.
A small smile tugged at my lips.
