Akari's POV

                                 "Falling"

I slowly opened my eyes when I felt someone patting my shoulder.

My breath hitched when I saw her face close to mine—so close that my gaze automatically landed on her soft, red lips.

I swallowed hard.

"Are you okay? Or is your spirit still asleep?" Solenn chuckled, amusement flickering in her eyes.

I flinched. "S-sorry, where are we?" I asked, forcing myself to focus.

"We're here," she replied before stepping out of the car and walking around to open the door for me.

"Thank you," I murmured, getting out—only for my jaw to drop as I took in the sight before me.

An elegant, luxurious white-and-gold mansion stood before us, its grand design exuding wealth and power. The second-floor balconies overlooked a sprawling yard, where a beautifully manicured garden added a touch of warmth to the otherwise imposing estate. Everything about it screamed wealth.

Before I could say anything, an elderly woman stepped forward.

"Aren't you both coming in, Señorita?" she asked warmly.

I glanced at Solenn, who shifted slightly.

"Let's go inside," she said, a hint of awkwardness in her voice.

So, she really is rich. Low-key, crazy rich.

As she led me through the grand mansion, I couldn't help but admire the interior—elegant yet sophisticated, with an undeniable vintage charm. Everything, from the chandeliers to the intricate woodwork, was clearly expensive.

The last stop on the tour was her bedroom.

Unlike the rest of the house, her room had a more personal, cozy touch—vintage yet simple. My eyes roamed around until they landed on a picture frame sitting atop the nightstand.

Curious, I picked it up.

It was a photo of Solenn and her mother.

She looked much younger, her hair long and flowing, her features softer. No wonder she looked European—her mother was stunningly beautiful, and they were practically identical.

I smiled, admiring the photo, but before I could say anything, a cold voice cut through the air.

"Why are you holding that?"

I turned, startled.

Solenn walked over, took the picture frame from my hands, and carefully placed it back where it was.

"You can touch anything in this room," she said firmly, "except that."

I swallowed hard. "S-sorry. I was just... impressed."

She leaned in, eyes locked onto mine.

"I don’t like people touching things that matter to me—especially without my permission, Ms. Sekiguchi."

Was that a warning? Her voice sent a shiver down my spine.

"I-I won’t do it again, I promise," I stammered.

A smirk curled on her lips.

"Good," she murmured, then patted my head.

What am I, a child?

I scowled, glaring at her.

She raised an eyebrow. "I saw that."

"What was that for, huh?" I huffed.
