Chapter 15

Darius pov

I woke up early in the morning and started getting ready. I have a feeling that the conversation with the Council will not be easy. Although I know Elder Kelly, there are many others whose approval I need to avenge my mate. And some of them are acquaintances of Alpha Gregor.

I looked at the bed where my mate was sleeping peacefully.

Fionn.

A beautiful name for a beautiful person.

When I was done I had one more thing left. I need to talk to Fionn about who is responsible for his suffering.

I sat on the bed next to him and moved the hair out of his face.

"Little one?" I whispered and he sighed deeply but made no move to wake up.

"Fionn?"

My mate's eyes widened and he sat up so quickly I staggered backwards. His breathing was shaky and he looked around with wide eyes until his eyes landed on me.

He quickly composed himself and you could see how his mask was hiding the real emotions on his face. It made me sad and angry.

"I'm sorry, I forgot where I was for a moment." He said and buried his face in his hands then he opened his fingers and peered at me.

"Do you have to leave? It's pointless anyway." He said. How can he downplay what has been done to him?

"Yes I must. They're not going to get away with this unpunished. Do you understand? No fucking way." I said and he just let out a deep sigh.

"Speaking of which I want you to tell me all the culprits." He looked at me with almost bored expression.

"You can't go and kill everyone, almost the whole pack has known I'm down there in the basement."

"We can bet on that." I growled and my mate just stared back and not saying anything.

"Fine! I want to know everyone who has abused you in one way or another."

"I don't know all of them." He's so stubborn..

"Fionn! The council must find out the culprits so that the punishment can be carried out!" I raised my voice, but he just turned to look out of the window.

"It doesn't matter. I was a public secret." He said emotionlessly.

"What do you mean?" I asked but he shook his head and remained silent. I sighed in discouragement.

"Okay. I have to go now but I'll be back in the evening. You can move around here freely and do whatever you want." I said touching his shoulder. All I got in response was a small smile.

"Asher, I want you to look after my mate today. I'm going to see Hazel before I leave."

"Of course Darius." He answered and I headed towards Hazel's room. I need more information and I'm going to get it. Fortunately Hazel agreed with me that those bastards need to be punished and told all the members of the pack who she could remember, who had tormented my mate. Unfortunately she also remembered people outside the pack but didn't know who they were.

Kane and I wanted blood.

And these fuckers want to deny it to us.
After a long journey I sat before the council.

"You can't fucking be serious! Alpha Gregor and his equally sick associates have held my mate prisoner for 11 years! Tortured and abused him in many different ways! And you just want me to sit and wait for you to talk to him first!?" I growled and didn't give a damn who they were.

"Calm yourself Alpha Darius!" Elder Kelly yelled at me. It doesn't matter if we know each other she has to be impartial.

"You can't just go and kill everyone until we've heard how they defend themselves against these accusations. I'm not saying the doctor or your mate is lying but this is our policy. Only when we're sure about it, you get your revenge." Elder Kelly continued and I bit my tongue not to lash out at her.

"You should rather focus on finishing your mating. Your wolf won't calm down until then." My gaze snapped on Elder Philip. A fucking rat. He is an over 50-year-old bald-headed idiot who doesn't understand that it's not wise to annoy me more.

"What I do or don't do with my mate is none of your fucking business!" I growled at him.

I stood up and gave the council a small nod, although I would rather just left the place without any respect. I was so pissed off.

I was about to leave the room when that fucker made a mistake and opened his mouth again.

"As if that slave hadn't done it before.." He mumbled.

I turned and rushed towards him.

"What the fuck did you just say!?" I grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up. My canines were showing and my claws were getting longer.

"I was a public secret." I remembered Fionn's words.

"Alpha Darius! What's the meaning of this!? Put him down!" Elder Kelly stood up.

"This fucker just called my mate a slave! That's what he was called in his old pack and I never told you that." I growled and tightened my grip.

"Elder Philip?" Elder Kelly asked and the asshole in my grip panicked. He only spilled the truth when I started digging my claws into his neck.

"Okay okay! I know the case! Alpha Gregor offered the boy to me. He's just a slave- Aahh!" I dug my claws through his skin.

"But- but what about Linda? You have a mate!" Someone from the council said and Elder Philip scoffed.

"My human mate, she hasn't been able to satisfy my needs for ages due to her illness. I-I just jumped at the chance I was given!" He tried to defend himself and it took all my strength not to rip his head off.

Elder Kelly sighed, looking both disappointed and sad. Finally she looked at me and nodded.

I smiled.

I didn't rush at all as I dug my claws deep into Philip's neck. I felt how warm blood began to flow down my arms and how his breathing became difficult. I finally leaned closer to make sure I was the last thing he saw.

"This is for my mate and his name is Fionn you sick fucker." I growled and ripped his neck open.

I dropped him on the floor and coldly turned to look at the council.

"Anyone else?" Elder Kelly asked. And after a while, Elder Kevin stood up and everyone looked at him.

"I.. I knew someone was down there in the basement, he was offered to me too. BUT! But I-I never accepted the offer." He hurried to say and looked at me in horror.

"Kill him." Kane growled.

"Why haven't you reported this to the council!?" Elder Kelly raised her voice and Elder Kevin looked at the floor.

"I- I don't know. I-I thought it was rogue.." Elder Kevin stammered.

The council began to mutter among themselves and Elder Kelly sighed deeply.

"I'm really disappointed in you Kevin.. You are no longer on the council. Gather your things and leave immediately before I let Alpha Darius take care of you too."

Kevin went so fast that he almost tripped over his feet. Elder Kelly seemed to be having a conversation with the council via mindlink and when they were done she looked at me.

"You can do whatever you want Alpha Darius. The Council supports the punishment of Alpha Gregor and his pack. However stick to the ones you know for sure are guilty." Elder Kelly said and I bowed to her.

I can't wait to get my hands on Alpha Gregor.

I was so furious that I know I will explode when I get home.
