3rd person's pov
"Hide me!" Fionn whispered quickly to the pack members who looked at him with amusement.
"Get behind the table Luna." One of the women guided him into hiding just as Alpha Darius appeared running around the corner, almost tripping over his feet when there were several members of the pack in the room. Before he would have ordered everyone out of the room but now he didn't care if everyone saw how he was behaving, it was all thanks to his beloved mate. Darius dared to show his transformation proudly but only within his own pack, to outsiders he is still a cold and emotionless Alpha, true to his reputation.
Behind the table Fionn tried to hold back his giggles so his hiding place wouldn't be revealed, completely forgetting how easily he could be found by scent. Heavy footsteps began to pass through the room.
"Do you really think you can run away from me little one?" Darius asked as the members gave way to the Alpha.
"Gotcha!" Darius appeared in front of Fionn who squealed and ran away laughing. The members laughed at the couple, it's wonderful for them to see the couple so happy and to see their Alpha as if he's living his youth that he had lost.
Darius watched as his mate disappeared from his sight. He then looked around the room, straightened his posture and cleared his throat.
"Keep up your work." He said seriously until a smile escaped his face and he ran after his mate.
Following his mate's scent, Darius ended up in the yard where he found Fionn surrounded by pups. He crept until he was close enough to grab Fionn.
A horrified squeal escaped Fionn as he was thrown on a strong shoulder.
"Heyyy! Put me down!" Fionn laughed and slapped Darius' back to no avail.
The pups looked at the large scarred Alpha warily but at the same time admiringly, they too want to become as strong as their Alpha. Darius noticed the children's expressions and tried to look as gentle as possible.
"Don't worry I would never hurt our Luna, he's is my mate. But now Luna has been naughty and ran away from the Alpha. He will get a tickling punishment." Darius said and started walking inside leaving the giggling pups behind.
"You weren't serious, were you Darius? Put me down." Fionn asked but got no answer. He buried his face against Darius's back, embarrassed as many saw him hanging on Alpha's shoulder.
When they were in their own room Darius dropped Fionn on the bed, who glared at the Alpha until he noticed his mischievous expression.
"No Darius. I'm serious." Fionn raised his arms for protection but it was no help as Alpha charged at him.
Due to the relentless tickling and his mate's pleas Darius only stopped to kiss Fionn passionately. In the end when both of them had to get oxygen, they pulled away and just looked at each other.
"I'm ready." Fionn said leaving Darius confused.
"What do you mean?" Darius asked and Fionn's face turned red.
"I'm ready to mate with you. I want you Darius in every way possible and Neo feels the same about Kane."
The stunned Alpha just stared at his mate. He never expected to have a mate let alone to be accepted by them. And now in front of him a beautiful hybrid wants him.
"Darius?" Fionn asked unsure and Darius interrupted him with quick kiss until he started to say
"I Io-"
"ALPHA!" Darius heard a loud scream through the mindlink and felt great irritation that his moment with Fionn was interrupted.
"Why the fuck are you yelling David!?" Darius growled at the warrior.
"I'm sorry Alpha but this is important! And I'm trying not to crap my pants. There's a big group of elves on the border and they're demanding that Luna comes here!" The alarmed warrior explained.
"Are you sure they're elves?" Darius asked looking at a concerned Fionn.
"Well, the person holding the knife around my neck seems pretty sure to be an elf!"
"Watch your tongue David, I'm your Alpha! We are coming." Darius replied with a growl.
"What was that?" Fionn asked. He didn't like how Darius's essence changed. Couldn't their lives finally be peaceful? It's been almost two months since Fionn visited Gregor and a week ago he received a notification that Gregor had died.
"Umm.. I got information that there are elves on our border who demand you to be there. Come, we must leave now they are threatening our warriors." Darius said and together they hurried towards the border.
When they reached the border Darius shielded Fionn, keeping him behind him. And indeed before them was a group of fifteen elves standing proudly around the woman who still held David prisoner.
"What'a the meaning of this!? Let my warrior go!" Darius growled menacingly.
The female elf tilted her head and watched the Alpha. Elves are aware of the affairs of other supernatural beings and Alpha Darius was not a new name to them.
"You have something that belongs to us. Give him over and we'll leave you alone." Elf answered in a strong voice.
The elf's voice brought back a flood of memories in Fionn and he peeked behind Darius. When his eyes found the woman he stepped away from behind Darius. He was gasping loudly and it felt like the ground was giving out beneath him. Violet eyes locked on his and her features softened. Fionn finally found his voice and mustered all his strength to hold himself together.
"Mum?"
