Darius pov

We were ten kilometers away from the borders of the Red Claw Pack when I decided to give instructions to the warriors who were with me.

"Listen everyone! We'll be there soon and I don't want anyone who hurt my mate to get away. I want half of you to go around to the other side of the area and make sure no one escapes that way. You have an hour until the rest of us cross the border from here."

I watched the warriors split and transform. After receiving permission they rushed off. I looked at the remaining warriors.

"You have an hour to rest and gather your strength. I wish this would go easily and quickly but knowing Alpha Gregor, I know it won't happen. As I said before, we can't blindly kill the whole pack but I have to get confirmation of those who have physically hurt my mate." I growled.

A low growls hung in the air as the warriors expressed their displeasure that we weren't getting as much revenge as we would have liked. Luna is the heart of the pack and no one takes lightly what Fionn has been through even though they don't even know everything.

"Asher. I want you to investigate who is most responsible for Fionn's suffering. I don't think I can resist ripping their throats open." I said.

"Of course Darius you can trust me." Asher replied seriously.

After waiting for a while, I finally got confirmation that the warriors are in place and everything is ready. We continued on and crossed the border of the Red Claw Pack. Since we are members of another pack and not rogues and I'm included, their warriors escorted us to the packhouse without any problems.

The members of the Red Claw Pack ducked out of our way looking alarmed and I can't blame them, we exude aggression.

"What the fuck are you doing here Darius!?" Alpha Gregor exclaimed as soon as he arrived in the yard. My warriors growled at his disrespectful behavior but I raised my hand and silenced them.

"I have come to avenge my mate. My beta Asher will interrogate everyone and with this information your fate will be decided." I answered with a strong cold voice.

Alpha Gregor looked around amused and chuckled.

"All this trouble for that slave? You're no match for your reputation Darius! I have connections to the council and they will never accept this!" Alpha Gregor shouted and the corner of my mouth lifted into a mocking smile.

"Oh you mean the former Elder Philip perhaps? He can't help you, he's rotting under the soil because I ripped his throat open. With the Council's permission of course." I replied still smiling. Alpha Gregor's smile dropped and all color drained from his face.

I stopped smiling, looked at everyone present and continued growling

"And my mate's name is Fionn! I have the support of the council behind me so I advise everyone to only tell my beta the truth!" I yelled and watched as the members rushed over to Asher and the warriors near him to share their own accounts of what had happened. In the hope of saving their own life.

I looked directly at Alpha Gregor who was frozen in place.

"I want blood and I'm going to get it."

Fionn's pov

I was sitting in the library when I heard voices outside. I looked at the clock and realized that I had been reading books for many hours. I love pups but I couldn't be with them for a long time when the crowd started to make me anxious. So I decided to bury myself in the library to read and learn about other supernatural beings.

I peeked out the window and immediately took off running. They came back!

I ran past everyone outside and looked for my mate. When I finally spotted him my heart dropped to my stomach. No.. I ran to him as fast as I could. Darius stopped me with his hands when I got to him.

"Are you okay? Oh my Goddess where are you hurting? Can I help? What-"

"Fionn." Darius interrupted me and I looked at him in panic. My mind was relaxed when I saw his face. He was calm and had small smile on his face.

"It's not my blood." Darius said and immediately brought me back to my senses as to why he is covered in blood. A lump rose in my throat and I remained silent.

"Hey.. It's over now. I did what I said I would do and now I'm home. Everything's fine." Darius said and I looked at him. He's fine and it's really over. I looked at the warriors and everyone seemed to be fine. I wanted to go check them out more but Darius stopped me.

"They're all fine and you can meet them tomorrow. Come on let's go home and sleep." He said and ushered me inside.

Darius washed up and we ate a small dinner. He told me how the day went and how quickly the alarmed members of my former pack had revealed who had hurt me the most. At my request, Darius had spared everyone who knew of my existence but did not help me. Darius had taken care of Alpha Gregor personally but refused to elaborate on the matter. The council will decide what they will do to the pack.

I didn't ask about it anymore and honestly I don't care. I'm just happy his home. We started sleeping snuggled up to each other. Now we can start healing together and I finally start living normally with my mate.

It can't be too much to ask. Right?
