Darius pov
I was furious. I've always known that Brianna is nothing but a nuisance but I wouldn't have thought that she was that bad. I waited impatiently in my office for Brianna's parents. I can honestly say that I don't regret killing her for a second, she's been getting on my nerves for a long time.
"I want to see Neo." Kane grumbled in my mind like some teenager.
"And you will as soon as this is taken care of." I answered and just then the door opened and two warriors escorted Zack and his mate into my office.
"You can stay here this won't be long." I told the warriors and turned my gaze to Brianna's parents.
"Alpha what is the meaning of this? Why are we here?" Zack asked looking confused and pained.
"Is it about our daughter? I-I felt our family bond was broken?" Brianna's mother asked with a trembling voice.
"Yes. She's dead." I answered and they gasped.
"How? What happened?" Zack asked and I stared at them for a moment. Yes, I feel sorry for them because they lost their child but maybe a better upbringing would have prevented this situation.
"I killed her." I answered honestly and chaos ensued. I listened to them talking over each other and asking questions.
"Silence!" I roared at them and they both bowed and shut their mouths.
"Your daughter tried to attack my mate even though for my mate's sake I already pardoned her once." I growled at them and all resistance disappeared from their bodies, they know how bad betrayal it is. I let out a deep sigh.
"I'm sorry things turned out this way but I would do it again in a heartbeat to defend my mate."
"We understand Alpha.." Zack answered.
"My next matter is about your brother Logan." I said. My anger surfaced again and my tone was cold. Zack looked up looking confused.
"What about him?"
"Did you know that your daughter has been torturing my mate with her cousin in his old pack, Red Claw pack? Or how sick your brother is!? He has abused my mate in many different ways!" I growled and the atmosphere in the room was suffocating.
Zack's mate paled and looked at his mate in disbelief with tears in her eyes.
"Zack?"
Zack was like a deer in headlights and my patience was starting to run out. I slowly got up from my seat and took a menacing step towards them. Zack dropped to his knees and kept his head down.
"I- I have always known that my brother is not a good person, but he is still family. I didn't know my daughter was involved b-but I knew about the prisoner in their basement-" Zack's explanation was interrupted when his mate started to cry.
"BUT of course I couldn't been able to know that it was my Alpha's mate, my Luna! I'm sorry.. I'm begging you to spare the rest of my family! I didn't know who was there.." Zack said and burst into tears himself.
"It shouldn't matter who it is! That is simply wrong! We can't even treat rogue prisoners that badly!" I yelled at him until I took a deep breath and thought about Fionn.
"I'm really disappointed in you Zack but I'll spare your family. But you will leave this pack and you will never come back. In a few days I will take revenge for my mate and I can promise that your brother will be among the dead." I growled and Zack continued to cry but nodded his head.
"Take Zack and his family to the interrogation side of the dungeon and see that they have everything they need there. No one enters or leaves without my permission, is that clear? They must not warn the Red Claw Pack that we are coming." I told the warriors.
"Yes Alpha!" They answered and went about their mission.
I calmed myself for a moment before I went to find my mate. I went to the kitchen but people there said that Fionn had gone out.
I wasn't surprised to find him in the garden tending the plants. My anxiety towards the place was no longer as bad as before but I couldn't help that I felt a sting in my chest. I'm just very sad when I thought of my mother.
"Oh you're ready." Fionn said bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Yes. I'm sorry that our plans changed, but do you think our wolves could still meet? I know Kane would need it right now." I asked and Kane perked up.
"Of course, if only the transformation is successful. I haven't done that before.." Fionn said uncertainly. Oh right, he's been separated from his wolf before his first transformation.
I hugged him and felt how he used my scent to calm down.
"I'll help you." I said kissing his hair.
After half an hour of painful trying, a beautiful white wolf with gray ear tips and the same violet eyes that I love in his human form stood in front of me. Kane was completely mesmerized by his mate. Neo tilted his head questioningly.
"Let me out!" Kane was screaming in my mind so loud that I flinched.
I transformed and before giving Kane control I told him to go easy on Neo.
For hours our wolves ran in the woods and played with each other, but finally I had to tell Kane to go back to the packhouse because it was time to eat something and take care of Alpha's work.
"It was fun!" Fionn said with a smile as we were back in our human forms.
"It was, but now we're going to eat and unfortunately I still have work to do." I answered him and we walked inside hand in hand.
I didn't even realize I was smiling until I saw the surprised looks on the pack members' faces.
"What are you staring at? I know how to smile." I told them still smiling and they were even more shocked. I laughed out loud and continued on my way with Fionn who smiled at me. This new cheerfulness feels good.
I could almost get used to this.
