[10] It's all over

Cody was in the kitchen looking through the fridge. He sighed.

He closed it without taking anything and then walked back up the stairs.

He went into the room and found Noah awake, writing in his notebook as usual.

He looked away. "Um... we won't be able to have any breakfast..." he said awkwardly.

"That's okay. We'll eat at school." Noah said.

"Yeah..." Cody was still being distant.

Noah noticed.

"Are you okay...?"

"I'm fine. Let's just get going."

Noah didn't know what to say, so he kept quiet.

The two walked to school.

Cody was looking at the ground and not saying anything.

Noah frowned at him.

When they finally make it school, it's like Cody was a different person.

He saw Trent and Justin and ran over to them.

"Hey, guys!!"

"Cody!" Justin greeted.

"Yesterday was sooo much fun! Do you guys think we can do it again today?"

"I'm not sure." Trent said.

"I'd have to check my schedule." Justin added.

"Oh, that's okay... i just hope the next time is soon!"

Noah watched that with a slight frown but quickly changed it to a glare.

He sighed and walked away without saying anything.

Trent looked behind Cody. "Wasn't Noah just with you?"

Cody looked behind him. "Uh, he was..."

"Is he okay? He's been glued to you recently..." Trent noticed.

"Um, yeah... he's just fine." Cody said slightly bitterly.

Trent and Justin noticed.

"You okay, Cody?" Trent asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"Did you two fight?" Justin asked.

"No."

"Okay...anyway, I'm going to class." Trent said before leaving.

"I'm gonna follow him." Justin said before doing just that.

Cody looked at them before making his way to his locker.

He passed by Noah, who was at his locker, but didn't say anything to him.

He quickly grabbed his stuff and went to class.

Later, as he was sitting, he saw Noah walk to his desk.

Cody frowned.

How did it come to this?

Why did Noah suddenly start hating him?

He didn't know.

When the bell ran for lunch, Cody stayed at his seat.

Trent went to him. "You good?"

"Yes. I'm fine. Why do you keep asking me that?"

"Cody. You know that I know that you're not fine. So why are you still lying?"
